BBs Shatter Windows, Multiple Burglaries Reported in Oak Park: Police

Sunday, January 26

Warrant: Robbery

Police charged Jerame Moore, 26, of Chicago, with a warrant for robbery in the 200 block of South Taylor Street around 12:30 a.m. He was processed and held for the Illinois Department of Corrections. 

Windows Shattered

Someone shattered the front and rear driver's side windows of a Dodge van parked in the 200 block of Wisconsin Avenue between 5:30 p.m. Jan. 25 and 8:45 a.m. Jan. 26. The estimated cost of damage is $300, police said. 

Wallet Stolen From Locker

Someone stole an iPhone and a wallet containing $200 from an unsecured locker in the 200 block of Marion Street between 9 and 10 a.m. The total estimated loss is $700, police said. 

Saturday, January 25

Trespassing Arrest

Police charged Garett Witt, 36, with trespassing to a vehicle in the 600 block of Jackson Boulevard around 1 a.m. 

Cash, Keys Stolen From Car

Someone stole cash and keys from an unlocked car in the 200 block of North Grove Avenue between 5 p.m. Jan. 24 and 5:30 a.m. Jan. 25. The total estimated loss is $20, police said. 

Electronics Stolen in Burglary

Someone stole an iPad, an iPod, a laptop, a video recorder and a digital camera from a home in the 700 block of South Lyman Avenue between 9:50 and 10:55 a.m. The total estimated loss is $1,350, police said. 

BB Shatters Car Window, French Door 

Someone shattered the rear window of a Volvo with a BB pellet in the 200 block of Forest Avenue between 7:15 p.m. Jan. 24 and 9 a.m. Jan. 25. The estimated cost of damage is $300, police said. 

Someone shot a BB gun and shattered a glass French door in the 900 block of Mapleton Avenue around 12:30 a.m. The estimated cost of damage is $750, police said. 

Phone Stolen at Fenwick

Someone stole an iPhone from an unattended gym bag at Fenwick High School between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $200, police said. 

Window Shattered

Someone shattered the rear passenger window of a Jeep Liberty parked in the 800 block of Mapleton Avenue between 4 p.m. Jan. 24 and 8 a.m. Jan. 25. The total estimated loss is $500, police said. 

Cash, CDs Stolen From Car

Someone ransacked the inside of an unlocked car in the 1000 block of West Erie Court and stole a jar of cash and eight CDs between 5 p.m. Jan. 24 and 9 a.m. Jan. 25. The total estimated loss is $153, police said. 

Friday, January 24

Electronics, Jewels Stolen in Burglary

Someone used a pry tool to break into a home in the 100 block of North Humphrey Avenue and stole an iPad, an iPad case and jewelry between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The total estimated loss is $2,230, police said. 

Break-in Attempt

Someone tried to break into an apartment in the 100 block of North Humphrey Avenue between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The estimated cost of damage is $250, police said. 

Thursday, January 23

Suspended License Arrest

Police charged Patricia Watson, 44, of Maywood, with a warrant for driving on a suspended license and a local charge of driving on a suspended license. She was given a Feb. 10 court date for the Oak Park charges and released on bond. 

Laptop Stolen in Burglary

Someone used force to break into a home in the 800 block of South Lombard Avenue and stole a laptop and a backpack between 7 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. The total estimated loss is $1,200, police said.

Electronics Stolen in Burglary

Someone used force to break into a home in the 800 block of South Taylor Avenue and stole a keyboard, two laptops, a an iPad and an iPhone between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $1,777, police said. 

Tuesday, January 21

Electronics, Coins Stolen in Burglary

Someone stole a laptop, an Xbox 360 and $30 in coins from a home in the 800 block of Hayes Avenue between 3:45 p.m. Jan. 15 and 4:50 p.m. Jan. 21. The total estimated loss is $1,330, police said.

Cell Phone Theft

Someone stole a cell phone that was left on a counter at a business in the 100 block of Madison Street between 11:30 a.m. and noon. Police said surveillance footage showed a man in his 20s, wearing a beige jacket and jeans, take the phone from the counter. The total estimated loss is $510, police said.
