A female bicyclist remains hospitalized Tuesday after she was struck at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Ridgeland Avenue, authorities said.
The crash took place around 7:30 a.m.i, when police said a motorist attempting to turn left onto northbound Ridgeland struck the cyclist, who was crossing Ridgeland at Washington.
Emergency responders found the injured woman lying in the crosswalk with injuries to her head. She was taken to Loyola Medical Center, where she remains in intensive care.

The driver of the car, who police would not identify, received citations for failure to exercise care and driving without a valid license.
Police did not release the crash victim's age or hometown, or whether or not she was wearing a helmet.
