Service Resumes After Blue Line Crash Near Harlem

Blue Line train service down after train collision near Harlem Avenue.

Service has resumed on the CTA Blue Line after a train collision near Harlem Avenue and the Eisenhower Expressway Monday morning. 

According to CTA, service to Forest Park has resumed. All trains will bypass the Harlem Avenue stop.

Several people were injured Monday after two Blue Line trains collided in Forest Park, CBS reports. Forest Park Mayor Anthony Calderone told the Chicago Tribune 48 people were hospitalized. None of the injuries was life-threatening, according to the Tribune.

Blue Line service is temporarily suspended between Forest Park and Austin. Shuttle buses are available to provide connecting service, according to CTA.

The two trains collided about 8 a.m. near Harlem Avenue and I-290, according to CBS.
