Burglar Steals Electronics and Wine, Teen Arrested for Stealing, Hiding Phone

Oak Park police reports from Sept. 9-15 include warrant arrests, theft arrests, break-ins and more.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15

Driving While License Revoked

Police charged Luis Davila, 28, of Cicero, with a warrant out of Oak Park for driving while license revoked. He was arrested in Cicero about 11:50 a.m. and held on bond.

Bike Stolen

Someone stole a $100 mountain bike from an unlocked garage in the 300 block of Wesley Avenue between 8 a.m. Sept. 13 and 8 a.m. Sept. 15.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14

Teen Arrested for Stealing, Hiding Phone

Police charged a 17-year-old Chicago boy with theft after he stole a cell phone from an employee room at a business in the 0-100 block of Harlem Avenue about 10:30 a.m. and hit it outside the building. Video surveillance showed him hiding the phone, police said. He was processed and released to his parents.

Woman Sees Kid Steal Bike

A woman in the 1000 block of North Humphrey Avenue reported she saw a boy who looked about 12 take a bike from her yard about 5 p.m. The total estimated loss is $75, police said.  

Doorknob Damage

Someone drilled into a doorknob at a home in the 100 block of Washington Boulevard between noon Sept. 4 and 8:45 a.m. Sept. 14. The estimated cost of damage is $200, police said.

Bike Stolen

Someone stole a $150 bike locked to a rack in the 200 block of South Marion Street between 1 and 10:15 a.m. 

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13

Car Ransacked

Someone ransacked the inside of a car in an unlocked garage in the 300 block of South Humphrey Avenue between 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 and 5:30 a.m. Sept. 13. No loss reported.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 12

Burglar Steals Electronics and Wine

Someone stole a projector TV, a laptop and a bottle of wine from a garden apartment in the 0-100 block of Washington Boulevard between 11:20 a.m. and about 6 p.m. The total estimated loss is $1,855, police said. 

Teen Arrested for Stealing at Jewel

A 16-year-old Chicago boy was arrested at Jewel, 438 Madison St., after a store employee saw him steal a can of soda, a bag of chips and a box of pastries about 6:20 p.m. He was processed and released to his parents. 

Bike Stolen

Someone stole a $100 bike locked to a rack in the 100 block of South Oak Park Avenue between 1 and 4 p.m.

GPS, Ray Bans Stolen From Car

Someone stole a Garmin GPS unit and a pair of Ray Bans from an unlocked car in the 300 block of Maple Avenue between 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11 and 7:15 a.m. Sept. 12. The total estimated loss is $350, police said. 

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11

Bike Stolen

Someone stole a $200 bike from a rack in the 700 block of South Boulevard between 5 p.m. Sept. 5 and noon Sept. 11. 

Propane Tanks Stolen

Someone stole two propane tanks from a yard in the 300 block of South Elmwood Avenue between 11 a.m. Sept. 6 and 11 a.m. Sept. 11. The total estimated loss is $120, police said.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

Calculator, Cash Stolen From OPRF Locker Room

Someone stole a calculator and cash from an unlocked locker in the boy's locker room at Oak Park and River Forest High School between 11:37 a.m. and 12:25 p.m. The total estimated loss is $170, police said.
