Thursday, November 22

Car Stolen on Kenilworth

Someone stole a white 2004 Chevy Suburban from the carport of a home in the 800 block of South Kenilworth Avenue between 8 p.m. Nov. 20 and 7 a.m. Nov. 21. The total estimated loss is $12,000, police said. 

Cars Ransacked on Kenilworth

700 block, 10 p.m.-7:40 a.m.
Someone broke a window to enter a car in the 700 block of South Kenilworth Avenue and ransacked the interior, then entered a car in the garage at the same location and stole $3 in coins between 10 p.m. Nov. 20 and 7:40 a.m. Nov. 21. The total estimated loss is $153, police said. 

800 block, 11:30 p.m.-3:10 a.m.
Someone used a pry tool to break into a car in the 800 block of South Kenilworth Avenue and ransacked the glove box between 11:30 p.m. Nov. 20 and 3:10 a.m. Nov. 21. The estimated cost of damage is $250, police said. 

700 block, 7 p.m.-3:30 a.m.
Someone broke a window to enter a car in the 700 block of South Kenilworth Avenue and ransacked the interior between 7 p.m. Nov. 20 and 3:30 a.m. Nov. 21. The estimated cost of damage is $200, police said. 

Garage Window Broken

Someone broke a window of a garage in the 700 block of South Kenilworth Avenue between 8 p.m. Nov. 20 and 3:30 a.m. Nov. 21. The estimated cost of damage is $200, police said.

Burglary Attempts

1100 block of South Taylor Street, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
Someone cut a window screen to a rear deck in an attempt to break into a home in the 1100 block of South Taylor Street between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. The offender was unable to break into the home, police said. The estimated cost of damage is $210, police said. 

1100 block of Harrison Street, 2:30 p.m. 
Someone broke a window to get into the front hallway of a residential building in the 1100 block of Harrison Street and tried to defeat the lock to enter the home around 2:20 p.m. No entry was gained. The estimated loss is $150, police said. 

200 block of South Maple Avenue, 2:45-3 p.m.
A witness chased two males who tried to break into a home in the 200 block of South Maple Avenue between 2:45 and 3 p.m. The offenders used a pry tool to try to break into the home, causing damage to the front door. The witness told police one of the offenders was in his 20s, about 5-feet-11, had a beard, and was wearing a grey furry hat with ear flaps and a dark jacket, and the other offender was about 30-40, and wearing a blue hat and a dark jacket, police said. No entry was gained. The estimated loss is $300, police said. 

Wednesday, November 20 

Break-in on Kenilworth

Someone broke a window to enter a car in the 200 block of North Kenilworth Avenue and ransacked the interior between 2 and 3:35 p.m. The estimated cost of damage is $300, police said. 

Burglaries

1000 block of South Ridgeland Avenue
Someone used force to break into a home in the 1000 block of South Ridgeland Avenue and stole a gold bracelet, an opal ring, a heart-shaped garnet necklace, a pink pearl necklace, a ruby pendant necklace, a gold ring, a gold ring with diamonds, a Star of David diamond necklace and earrings, topaz earrings and five collectible silver quarters between 11 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. The total estimated loss is $2,550, police said. 

1100 block of Gunderson Avenue
Someone stole an X-Box, a computer and a pair of gold earrings from a home in the 1100 block of Gunderson Avenue between 1 and 7 p.m. The total estimated loss is $550, police said.
