Diapers, Patio Furniture and Cars Reported Stolen: Police Blotter

Oak Park police reports, May 12-16.

THURSDAY, MAY 16

Patio Chairs Stolen

A resident in the 200 block of Wesley Avenue reported theft after seeing a man in khakis and a brown hoodie take four black wrought-iron patio chairs from her backyard. The estimated loss is $300, police said.

Diapers Stolen

Someone broke into a garage in the 800 block of Highland Avenue between 10 p.m. May 15 and 8 a.m. May 16 and took ear buds and two packages of Pampers diapers from an unlocked Mini Cooper.

Car Stolen on Taylor Ave.

A resident in the 1000 block of Taylor Avenue reported someone stole their silver 1991 Toyota Camry between 5 and 6:15 a.m. The estimated loss is $500, police said.

iPhone Stolen 

An iPhone 4S was stolen from a Grey Chevy Traverse parked in the 100 block of North Ridgeland Avenue around 4 p.m. 

Retail Theft: Lotion Bottles at CVS

Police charged Marcelia Bradford, 43, of Berwyn with retail theft after he took five bottles of lotion from CVS Pharmacy, 345 Madison St. around 11:30 a.m.

Car Stolen on Maple Ave.

Someone stole a black 2000 Lincoln Navigator with license plate R925601, estimated at $2,000, from the 700 block of South Maple Avenue between 10 p.m. May 14 and 1 p.m. May 15. 

Marijuana Possession

Police arrested Justin Pleasant, 19, of the 900 block of North Humphrey Avenue in Oak Park for marijuana possession around 8:45 p.m. Police found two small baggies with 1.2 grams of marijuana. He was released on bond.

TUESDAY, MAY 14

Retail Theft: Man Snags Makeup, Nail Polish at CVS

Police charged Jose Nieves, 35, of Chicago with felony retail theft at CVS Pharmacy in the 6700 block of Roosevelt Road. He was arrested after someone saw him put makeup and nail polish in his pockets and leave the store around 3 p.m., police said. 

Flat Screen TV, Camera Lenses Stolen in Break-in

Someone broke into an apartment in the 400 block of South Taylor Avenue between 4 p.m. May 13 and 2 p.m. May 14 and stole a 56" flat screen TV, two pairs of 3D glasses, two Nikon camera lenses and some change. The estimated loss is $2,480, police said.

Tools, Electronics Stolen From Car

Someone broke into a Dodge 2500 in the 300 block of South Elmwood Avenue between 5:30 p.m. May 13 and noon May 14 and stole a GPS unit, an iTouch, a power Milwaukee angle grinder, drill, impact driver and a charger. The estimated loss is $1,140, police said.

Bike Theft

Someone stole a men's bike locked to a bike rack in the 200 block of South Oak Park Avenue between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. 

SUNDAY, MAY 12

Bike Theft

Someone stole a cable lock and an $850 purple bike from a rack in the 800 block of North Boulevard between 12:15 and 12:45 p.m.
