Forest Park Fire Displaces 10, Guts Building

The fire in the 7700 block of Monroe St. burned for 12 hours.

A fire earlier this week consumed a three-story Forest Park building, displacing 10 residents and took more than 50 fire fighters to extinguish, according to the Forest Park Review. No one was injured.

The building in the 7700 block of Monroe Street caught fire late on Dec. 30 and burned for almost 12 hours, the paper reported. It appears to have started in the basement, but spread quickly throughout the upper floors.
