Girl Hits Cop, Kicks Squad Car Window

Police charged a 16-year-old girl with battery and property damage after she struck an officer in the head and kicked the window of a squad car around 4 p.m. Police said the girl was involved in a domestic dispute with her mother in the 1200 block of North Lombard Avenue, and hit the responding officer in the head. She then kicked at the window of a squad car, separating the window from its frame, police said. She was processed and turned over to the Cook County Detention Center, police said.

Battery Arrest

Brian McMahon, 22, of Champaign, was arrested for battery after he punched a bouncer in the face around 1:50 a.m. An employee of a bar in the 7400 block of Madison Street told police he was working the door that night, and that McMahon kept trying to sneak back into the bar after getting kicked out twice. The third time he tried to sneak in, he punched the employee in the face when he tried to block him from entering. 

He was processed on one count of battery and one count of trespassing and held on bond.

$15,000 Statue Stolen

Someone stole a 7-foot statue of a nude woman from a home in the 1200 block of Franklin Avenue. The total estimated loss is $15,000, police said. 

LA GRANGE

Cab Driver Complaint

A man claims that his cab driver verbally assaulted him and his friend around 3:52 a.m. after they complained that the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, police said. They asked to be let out near Sedgwick Park and the driver drove away. Police took note of the incident as a matter of record. The man said he would follow up with the cab company.
