Homes, Garages and Cars Burglarized: Oak Park Police Blotter

Thefts, vandalism, drug charges also reported.

The following items are taken from Oak Park Police Department daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

DOMESTIC BATTERY Floyd Perry, Jr., 37, 464 N. Austin Blvd., was charged with domestic battery after a Nov. 1 incident at his residence, police said.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE The rear window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Superior Street was broken about Oct. 31, causing about $350 in damage.

CAR BURGLARY A construction hard hat, cell phone, gas card and $2 in change were among the items stolen during a pair of break-ins to cars parked in the 900 block of Lake Street sometime around Oct. 30.

CAR BURGLARY A wallet containing credit and ID cards was stolen Oct. 30 from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 300 block of Clinton Street.

CAR BURGLARY  A wallet containing cash, ID cards, keys and a cell phone was stolen during an Oct. 30 break-in to a car parked in the 900 block of Madison Street.

THEFT A purse containing cash and various ID cards was stolen Oct. 30 from a women in the 400 block of Lake Street.

DOMESTIC BATTERY Melvina Ivy, 40, 537 S. Cuyler Ave., was charged with domestic battery after an Oct. 30 incident in the 800 block of Madison Street, police said.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE A deadbolt lock to a garage door in the 800 block of South Taylor Street was broken around Oct. 29, causing about $20 in damage.

DUI CHARGE Amy Linkins-Bergau, 39, 1040 N. Humphrey Ave., was charged with drunken driving after an Oct. 29 traffic stop in the 300 block of West Augusta Ave., police said.

THEFT An iPhone valued at $595 was stolen Oct. 29 from an unlocked classroom door at Oak Park-River Forest High School, 201 N. Scoville Ave.

BATTERY Michelle Hall, 49, 6832 S. Crandon Ave. in Chicago, was charged with battery after an Oct. 29 incident in the 1200 block of Fair Oaks Avenue, police said.

RETAIL THEFT Two boxes of candy valued at $40 were stolen during an Oct. 29 retail theft that took place at the Valero gas station, 100 Chicago Ave.

CAR BURGLARY A car stereo valued at $800 was stolen about Oct 29 from an unlocked car parked in an unlocked garage in 300 block of South Scoville Avenue.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY Two watches, an iPod and a girl's bicycle valued at a combined $540 were stolen Oct. 29 from an apartment in the 300 block of North Austin Blvd.

GARAGE BURGLARY Two bicycles valued at $1,275 were stolen Oct. 29 from a garage in the 1100 block of Linden Avenue.

THEFT A cell phone valued at $250 was stolen Oct. 28 from Oak Park Village Hall, 123 Madison St.

THEFT The rear bumper of a car parked in the 500 block of South Taylor Steet was stolen Oct. 28.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT Lashawnda Orr, 18, 819 W. Latrobe Ave. in Chicago, was charged with telephone harassment and disorderly conduct after victimizing an Oak Park resident, police said.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE A sharp object was used Oct. 27 to damage a car parked in the 1100 block of Lake Street.

CAR BURGLARY A handicapped parked placard was stolen Oct. 27 from an unlocked car parked in the 100 block of North Kenilworth Avenue.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE A fire was ignited Oct. 26 inside a village-owned garbage can located in the 30 block of Lake Street.

MARIJUANA POSSESSION A student at Oak Park-River Forest High School was charged with marijuana possession Oct. 26, police said.

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA An Oak Park juvenile was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and theft Oct. 26, police said.

CAR THEFT A silver 2001 Hyundai parked in the 400 block of South Cuyler Avenue was stolen about Oct. 25.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY A laptop, camera, video camera, DVD player and television valued at a combined $4,300 were stolen Oct. 25 when a thief climbed through the window of a home in the 100 block of Augusta Avenue.

THEFT Delivered merchandise valued at $80 was stolen about Oct. 20 from outside a home in the 300 block of North Taylor Street.

FORGERY An Oak Park woman's bank account was depleted by $200 when an unknown person forged her name and withdrew cash from Park National Bank, 11 Madison St., sometime around Oct. 12.
