Ice Cream Bandits Strike Again
Second burglary at Oak Ice Cream Distributors in about three weeks.
Ice cream thieves once again struck the trucks at , 250 1/2 Chicago Ave., making this the second incident at the business in about three weeks.
Investigators say the latest theft took place sometime between Sept. 7 and Sept. 8, when a burglar or burglars pried open the closed, locked windows of two trucks, then stole 55 boxes of frozen treats. The estimated loss was $1,250.
The theft echos another recent ice cream theft at the business, which distributes ice cream treats wholesale and to the public.

The first of the incidents took place sometime between , when a bandit or bandits broke the front plastic passenger window of one of the company's trucks parked behind the building. Two other trucks were burglarized during that incident. In all, the stolen ice cream was valued at $350.
