TUESDAY, JAN. 22

Juvenile Arrested for Pot Possession

A River Forest juvenile was charged with possession of cannabis at Oak Park and River Forest High School around 2 p.m. The student will appear in local ordinance court in February and was later released to parents.

Bad Check Used for Rent

Jose Birriel, 38, of the 800 block of Ferdinand Avenue in Forest Park, was charged with deceptive practice around 4 p.m. Police said he paid his rent with a check from a closed account. He was issued a court date and later released on bond.

SUNDAY, JAN. 20

Suspended License

Hermilo Covarrubias, 24, of the 1800 block of north 33rd in Stone Park, was arrested at about 4:38 a.m. for driving with a suspended license in the 7300 block of North Avenue. He was issued a court date and released on bond.

DUI Arrest

Liberato Casarez Jr., 19, of the 1500 block of Cypress Avenue in Hanover Park, was charged with driving under the influence in the 7100 block of Roosevelt Road around 10 a.m. He was issued a court date and released on bond.

SATURDAY, JAN. 19

Assault Arrest

A Chicago juvenile was arrested in the 600 block of north Oak Park Avenue and charged with assaulting an Oak Park juvenile around 2:28 p.m. No further information was available.

FRIDAY, JAN. 18

Trespassing at OPRF

A juvenile from Bellwood was arrested at Oak Park and River Forest High School around 3:10 p.m. after he was found on the property. He was taken into custody and later released to a parent.

Retail Theft

Charles D. Washington, 37, of the 5900 block of west Midway Park in Chicago, was charged with retail theft from Dominick’s in the 200 block of Lake Street around 2:25 p.m. A loss prevention officer at the grocery store reported witnessing Washington attempt to leave the store without paying for his items. Washington was taken to the station and held in lieu of bond.
