Kid Arrested for Battery, Burglary on Pleasant Street: Police Blotter

Oak Park police reports from June 25 and July 1

MONDAY, JULY 1

Burglary on Pleasant Street

Someone broke a glass window pane and used a pry tool to break into a home in the 1000 block of Pleasant Street between 6:45 and 7 a.m. and stole two laptops, a backpack, a Playstation system, duffle bags, DVDs and a Nintendo Wii. The total estimated loss is $1,230, police said.

Wallet, Clothes Stolen From Gym Locker

Someone stole clothes, a wallet, cash, IDs and keys from a gym locker in the 1100 block of West Lake Street between 9 and 10 p.m. The total estimated loss is $320, police said. 

Table, Chairs Stolen

Someone stole a table and two folding chairs from a home in the 500 block of Washington Boulevard between 6:50 and 7:05 a.m. The total estimated loss is $150, police said. 

Warrant: Suspended License

Police charged Shakeena Walker, 28, of Bellwood with a warrant out of Kane County for driving on a suspended license. She was arrested around 2:15 p.m. in the 7100 block of Roosevelt Road and released after posting bond.

Prius Egged

Someone threw an egg at a Prius between 9:45 p.m. June 30 and 10:35 a.n. July 1 in the 1000 block of South Oak Park Avenue. The estimated cost of damage is $100, police said. 

Window Shattered in Break-in Attempt

Someone shattered a window to break into a Scion in the 400 block of Scoville Avenue between 11 p.m. June 30 and 8:10 a.m. July 1 and tried, unsuccessfully, to steal a DVD/CD player and and LCD screen. The estimated cost of damage is $100, police said. 

Minor Arrested for Battery

Police arrested a minor from Oak Park for a battery that took place May 9 in the 200 block of North Scoville Avenue. The child was arrested around 5:10 p.m. in the 100 block of Madison Street and released to their parents, police said. 

iPhone Stolen

Someone stole an unattended iPhone from a table in the 800 block of South Oak Park Avenue between 1:10 and 1:25 p.m. The total estimated loss is $630, police said. 

Window Broken in Break-in Attempt

Someone broke a basement window at a home in the 800 block of South East Avenue between 3 and 4 p.m. in an unsuccessful attempt to break in to the home. The estimated damage cost is $100, police said. 

Bike Thefts

  • Someone stole a $500 men's bike in the 500 block of Lake Street between noon and 12:30 p.m. 
  • Someone stole a boy's bike from a yard in the 600 block of South Humphrey Street between 8 p.m. June 30 and 6:30 a.m. July 1. The total estimated loss is $140, police said. 
  • Someone stole a mountain bike locked to a rack in the 1100 block of South Boulevard between 9 a.m. and 8:15 p.m. The total estimated loss is $100, police said. 
TUESDAY, JUNE 25

UPS Package Stolen

Someone stole a UPS package containing a voltage transformer, worth $24, from a front porch in the 800 block of North Harvey Avenue between about 3 and 5:30 p.m.
