Bike Stolen at OPRF

Someone stole a bike from the tennis courts at Oak Park and River Forest High School between 1 and 4 p.m. The total estimated loss is $100, police said.

Parole Violation Arrest

Timothy Gowdy, 36, of Chicago, was arrested around 8:40 a.m. in the 800 block of Lake Street for violating parole. Police said Gowdy also had 1.3 grams of marijuana on him. He was given a Sept. 23 court date and held on bond. 

Protection Order Violation

Police charged Jerry Lewis, 52, of Chicago, for violating an order of protection in the 100 block of Lake Street around 11:30 p.m. He was processed and held on bond. 

SATURDAY, AUGUST 3

Car Stolen on Humphrey

Someone stole a 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass from the 1200 block of North Humphrey Avenue between 11:50 p.m. Aug. 2 and 3 p.m. Aug. 3. The total estimated loss is $1,050, police said. 

Laptop, Passport Stolen 

Someone stole a shoulder bag containing a laptop and a passport from an unlocked car in the 300 block of Wisconsin Avenue between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 2 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 3. The total estimated loss is $1,340, police said. 

Phone, Shoes, Wallet Stolen From Locker

Someone stole an iPhone 4, a pair of shoes and a wallet containing IDs and cash from a locker in the 100 block of South Euclid Avenue between 5 and 6 p.m. The total estimated loss is $220, police said. 

FRIDAY, AUGUST 2

Battery: Kid on Bike Pinches Girl's Behind

A teenage boy wearing a black Bulls jersey pinched a 15-year-old girl's behind as he rode past her on a bike in the 600 block of South Boulevard around 11:55 a.m. He was last seen going east on South, police said. 

Bike Stolen From Garage

Someone ransacked a honda and stole a women's bike from an unlocked garage in the 1100 block of South Humphrey Avenue between 9 p.m. Aug. 1 and 2 p.m. Aug. 2. The total estimated loss is $500, police said. 

Tattooed Man Steals 5 Nike Shirts at Diana Shoes

A man with tattoos on his face stole five Nike shirts from Diana Shoes, 4 W. Madison St. around 6:30 p.m. He was last seen running east on Madison into Chicago. The total estimated loss is $250, police said. 

Warrant Arrests

  • Police charged Christian Search, 21, of the 200 block of Washington Boulevard in Oak Park with a warrant out of Naperville for marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession. He was arrested during a traffic stop around 10:40 p.m. in the 300 block of Madison Street and turned over to Naperville police. 
  • Police charged Benjamin Abarca, 40, of Berwyn, with a warrant out of Cook County for a traffic violation. 

Phones Stolen

  • Someone stole a Samsung Galaxy cell phone and charger from a hallway in the 1000 block of Pleasant Street between 11 and 11:40 p.m. The total estimated loss is $50, police said. 
  • Someone stole an iPhone 5 from an unlocked locker in the 1100 block of Ontario Avenue between 3:45 and 4 p.m. The total estimated loss is $600, police said. 
THURSDAY, AUGUST 1

Man Punched for Asking for his Bike

A man punched a Forest Park man in the face after he asked for his stolen bike back around 10 p.m. in the 100 block of South Kenilworth Avenue. Police said the man noticed someone in a group of about eight men sitting on his bike that had been stolen earlier that day. When he asked to have it back, one of the men punched him in the face, police said.

Appliance, Clothes Stolen From UPS Packages

Someone stole a Cuisinart food processor and Banana Republic women's clothing from UPS packages in the 900 block of Pleasant Street between 4 and 5:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $705, police said. 

WEDNESDAY, JULY 31

Bike Stolen

Someone stole a $450 bike from an open garage in the 1100 block of Edmer Avenue between noon July 30 and 8 a.m. July 31.
