Warrant Arrest

Police charged Alejandra Valentin, 38, of Chicago with a warrant out of DuPage County during a traffic stop in the 5800 block of Division Street around 12:25 a.m. The was processed and released on bond, police said.

THURSDAY, JULY 25

Kids Arrested for Stealing Candy

Three Chicago juveniles were arrested for retail theft at CVS Pharmacy, 345 Madison St., after store employees saw them steal 35 large candy bars and a cooler bag, worth a total of about $93, around 2:50 p.m. 

Bike, Glasses Stolen

Someone ransacked a BMW and an Audi in an unlocked garage in the 100 block of South East Avenue and stole a pair of sunglasses, $8 in coins and a men's bike between 11 p.m. July 24 and 6 a.m. July 25. The total estimated loss is $548, police said. 

Prius Window Broken

Someone broke the rear window of a Toyota Prius parked in the 100 block of Madison Street between 5:45 and 6:05 a.m. The total estimated loss is $400, police said. 

Paintball Gun Stolen

Someone stole a paintball gun from a delivery package on the front porch of a home in the 200 block of North Euclid Avenue between 12:45 and 2:15 p.m. The total estimated loss is $169.99, police said. 

WEDNESDAY, JULY 24

Bikes Stolen From Garage

Someone stole two bikes from an unlocked garage in the 300 block of South Elmwood Avenue between 3 and 3:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $800, police said. 

TUESDAY, JULY 23

Jewels Stolen

Someone stole a necklace and a ring from a jewelry box in a home in the 100 block of South Humphrey Avenue between 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $122, police said. 

SUNDAY, JULY 21

Purses Stolen From Unlocked Car

Someone stole two purses containing phone chargers, wallets, IDs and about $80 cash from an unlocked Chevy in the 500 block of South Harvey Avenue between 3:30 and 3:50 p.m. The total estimated loss is $535, police said. 

Window Shattered

Someone used a brick to break the front passenger window of a pickup truck in the 500 block of South Kenilworth Avenue between noon July 20 and noon July 21.
