Man Arrested for Armed Robbery in Forest Park

Police charge Travis Cook with the armed robbery reported Aug. 4 at 7-Eleven in Forest Park.

Forest Park police have charged a Chicago man with an Aug. 4 armed robbery at 7-Eleven, 7749 Roosevelt Rd. 

Police arrested Travis Cook on Aug. 29 in Chicago after fingerprint evidence identified Cook as a suspect in the robbery, police said. 

Police said about 12:45 a.m. Aug. 4, a man with a gun jumped over the counter in the store, grabbed the cash drawer and ran. A 7-Eleven cashier told police a man talking on a phone was looking at phone cards before he walked to the counter, put his hand by his right side and yelled, "...Open the register, this is a robbery, give me the money!" several times, police said.

"Cook has an extensive criminal history that includes 50 prior arrests with 28 convictions for burglary, robbery, weapons, obstructing, flight-escape, traffic and drug offenses," police said. 

Cook was charged with one count of Aggravated Robbery.
