Man Throttles, Threatens to Kill Woman in Oak Park Robbery

The offender wrapped his arm around a woman's neck and threatened to kill her at the Green Line stop Friday afternoon.

A man threatened to kill a woman if she didn't give him her purse at the Austin Blue Line stop around 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22.

Police said the man, who was wearing a dark jacket and dark pants, grabbed the woman from behind as she walked toward the Lombard Avenue exit in the 700 block of South Austin Boulevard.

He then wrapped his arm around her neck, began squeezing and said, "Give it up or I'll kill you," according to the police report.

The woman let go of her purse, which contained a cell phone and a wallet containing $400, credit cards and IDs. The total estimated loss is $610, police said.
