Chicago Man Charged With River Forest Burglaries

Chicago man charged with residential burglaries in River Forest that occurred in July and August.

River Forest police charged Brian Johnson, 28, of Chicago, with two residential burglaries that occurred over the summer on Forest and Franklin avenues, police said Monday. 

A resident in the 700 block of Forest Avenue reported someone stole electronics and jewelry from their home between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. July 23.

Another resident in the 1000 block of Franklin Avenue reported someone stole electronics, jewelry and cash on Aug. 2, police said. 

Police also responded to a burglar alarm Aug. 2 in the 1000 block of Thatcher Avenue, where an offender had forced entry into a home but left before police arrived.

Johnson was charged Nov. 7 with felony residential burglary for the incidents on Forest and Franklin avenues. Police said a second offender is also linked to the three burglary cases.
