Man Chokes Ex, Steals Phone

Police are investigating a report of a theft and battery in Powers Hall at Dominican University, 7900 Division. A woman said her ex-boyfriend choked her and stole her phone at noon Feb. 27. 

TVs, Cigarettes Stolen From Home

Police said about $4,500 in items were stolen from a home in the 7200 block of Oak between 6:40 a.m. and 4 p.m. March 1. The burglar pried open a bedroom window to get inside and then took two TVs, cartons of cigareets, a radio and bedding items.

A neighborhood canvass led to possible leads about two people who fled in a cab. Some of the stolen items have been recovered, and police continue to investigate the incident.

Warrant Arrest

Joy L. Johnson, 37, of the 100 block of N. Leclaire in Chicago, was booked on a warrant for her arrest in Will County following a traffic stop in the 7700 block of North Avenue.

UPS Package Stolen

A UPS package containing clothes worth $50 was taken from the front porch of a home in the 100 block of Lathrop. Police said the theft occurred between 10:16 a.m. Feb. 26 and 11:30 a.m. Feb. 27.
