Man Exposes Himself, Tries to Abduct Elmwood Park Kids

Police continue investigation into June 13 incidents.

Update: We've heard from Police Chief Frank Fagiano, who said investigators are "continuously working" on the case.

Police in Elmwood Park are continuing their investigation into a pair of incidents in which a man grabbed a young girl, exposed himself and later attempted to lure a child into his car.

Both incidents took place around 3:30 p.m June 13 in the 7700 block of Palmer Avenue, when an unidentified man wearing latex gloves grabbed one the young female victims and later exposed himself.

A short time later, the man approached another girl and "attempted to lure her closer to his vehicle," according to a police department news release. Instead, the girl ran away and told her parents.

None of the girls were hurt.

According to the release, the man is described as a white male in his 20s, between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall, "with a faux-hawk hair style combed to a point at the top." He was last seen driving a new model silver-blue metallic Honda Accord 4-door, police said.

A commenter on the Village of Elmwood Park's official Facebook page claiming to be the mother of one of the victims said the man has black curly hair and not the "faux-hawk" described in the release.

A call to the Elmwood Park Police Department was not immediately returned. Anyone with information is asked to call the Elmwood Park Police Department at (708) 453-2137.
