Sunday, January 19

Tip Jar Stolen from Cold Stone Creamery

A teenage male stole a tip jar containing about $25 from the front counter at Cold Stone Creamery in downtown Oak Park around 8:25 p.m. The total estimated loss is $25, police said. 

TV, Luggage Stolen in Burglary

Someone stole a TV, a air conditioning unit, a comforter and a suitcase from a home in the 1000 block of North Harlem Avenue between 9 a.m. Dec. 14 and 7 p.m. Jan. 19. The total estimated loss is $350, police said. 

Warrant Arrest

Police charged Laeshawn Ammons, 46, of Oklahoma City, OK, with three warrants out of DuPage County for failure to appear in the 900 block of Clinton Avenue around 12:35 a.m. He was processed and held for DuPage County. 

iPhone Stolen from Pocket

Someone stole an iPhone from the victim's pocket at a rehabilitation center in the 6900 block of North Avenue between 9 and 9:30 a.m. The total estimated loss is $520, police said. 

Saturday, January 18

Trespassing Arrest

Police charged John Maher, 77, of Chicago, with trespassing in the 1100 block of South Humphrey Avenue around 8:25 p.m. He was processed and held on bond. 

Aggravated DUI

Police charged Alberto Pantaleon, 39, of Cicero, with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a valid license in the 300 block of South Ridgeland Avenue around 1 a.m. He was held on bond. 

Friday, January 17

Purse Stolen in Laundromat

Someone stole an unattended purse from a laundromat in the 0-100 block of Chicago Avenue. A witness told police they saw two males going through the purse in the parking lot behind the business around 9:25 p.m. The purse was recovered, but was missing $3, a debit card and a CTA card, police said. 

Thursday, January 16

Harassment Arrest

Police charged Brianna Cubie, 19, of the 1200 block of North Austin Boulevard in Oak Park, with harassment via electronic communications at Oak Park and River Forest High School around 9:40 a.m. She was processed and held on bond. 

Parole Violation

Police charged Dwayne Wells, 60, of Chicago, with a parole violation and a warrant for the manufacturing and delivery of heroin. He was arrested in the 1100 block of Madison Street and turned over to the Illinois Department of Corrections. 

Break-in Attempt

Someone wearing a black cap, a puffy winter coat and dark pants kicked open a door to a home in the 100 block of South Harvey Avenue around 1:15 p.m. The victim, who was in the basement at the time, confronted the offender, who ran north on Harvey. The estimated cost of damage is $100, police said. 

Man Steals Laundry Detergent From Jewel

A man in his 30s stole two bottles of Tide laundry detergent from Jewel, 438 W. Madison St., around 7:50 a.m. Police said the man got into a SUV that traveled north on Scoville Avenue. The total estimated loss is $100, police said. 

Car Stolen

Someone stole a 1996 Oldsmobile Ciera from a lot in the 500 block of South Boulevard between 7:55 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. The total estimated loss is $3,000, police said. 

iPhone Stolen at OPRF

Someone stole an iPhone from an unattended gym bag in the pool area at Oak Park and River Forest High School between 5:30 and 7 p.m. The total estimated loss is $300, police said.   

Saturday, January 11

Marijuana Possession

Forest Park police charged Leone Schwestka, 25, of Oak Park, with marijuana possession during a traffic stop near the intersection of Harlem Avenue and Monroe Street around 11:45 p.m. She was given a March 5 court date and released. 

Thursday, January 9

Man Fondles Himself at Kmart

Forest Park police charged June Garner, 22, of Chicago, with public indecency after he allegedly exposed his genitals to a Kmart employee around 3 p.m. The employee told police she was folding clothes in the infant section when she noticed Garner next to her, and saw that he was fondling himself. Garner was processed and given a Feb. 25 court date and released on bond. 

Wednesday, January 8

Retail Theft

Forest Park police charged Santino Donato, 20, of Oak Park, with retail theft after he stole a pair of slippers and some personal hygiene items that totaled about $84 from Kmart, 7630 Roosevelt Rd., around 10:25 p.m. He was processed, given a Feb. 18 court date and released. 

Teen Steals Rental Car

Forest Park police charged a 16-year-old boy with vehicle theft, failure to yield, driving without a license, possession of stolen property and attempting to flee or elude an officer after he stole a rental car from Hertz in Oak Park and tried to lose police during a chase on I-290. D'Angelo Smith, 18, of Forest Park, was in the car, and was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and trespassing a vehicle.
