Man in Alley Had Crack Pipe, Stolen Dog Collar: Police

Bikes Stolen

Someone stole two unattended bikes from the 800 block of Gunderson Avenue between 4:15 and 5:10 p.m. The total estimated loss is $2,100, police said. 

Laptop, Documents Stolen in Burglary

Someone broke into a home in the 1100 block of Holley Court and stole a laptop and miscellaneous documents between 11:10 a.m. and 1:35 p.m. The total estimated loss is $330, police said. 

Man Had Crack Pipe, Stolen Dog Collar

Police charged Mario Johnson, 41, of Chicago, with theft after police found him in possession of a crack pipe, a dog collar, a pair of gloves and a Law & Order DVD set in an alley in the 0-100 block of South Austin Boulevard about 3:40 a.m. He was also held for possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Police charged Danielle Lawrence, 35, of Ottawa, with possession of a controlled substance, driving on a suspended/revoked license and operating an uninsured vehicle about 4:30 p.m. in the 400 block of South Austin Boulevard. She was given a Dec. 13 court date and held on bond. 

Retail Theft

Police charged Michael Lyons, 31, of Chicago, with retail theft at Walgreen's, 6412 Roosevelt Rd., about 6:40 p.m. He was held on $1,500 bond. 

Purse Stolen From Grocery Cart

Someone stole an unattended purse from a grocery cart in the 400 block of Madison Street about 6:40 p.m. The total estimated loss is $29, police said.
