Mercedes Stolen From Tennis Club: Police Blotter

Oak Park police reports, March 18.

MONDAY, MARCH 18

Car Burglarized

Someone ransacked an unlocked car in a parking garage in the 900 block of Lake Street between 10:30 p.m. March 15 and 6:15 p.m. March 18. The items stolen included a Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS unit, black and green Oakley frogskin sunglasses and the victim's social security card. The estimated loss is $430. 

Attempted Burglary

Someone tried to break into a home in the 1000 block of N. Kenilworth at about 11:20 a.m. The estimated damage is unknown.

Mercedes Stolen

Someone stole car keys, an iPhone and $90 cash from an unattended gym bag in a locker room in the Oak Park Tennis Club, 301 Lake St., then stole the victim's white 2010 Mercedes Benz 350E from the parking lot. The estimated loss was $54,390. 

Attempted Burglary

Someone tried to force open a door in the 600 block of N. Taylor but couldn't successfully enter the location. The estimated damage was $75.

Protection Order

Adam R. Schmidt, 29, of the 1800 block of S. Highland in Berwyn, was charged with violating an order of protection at 9:11 p.m. in the 6900 block of Roosevelt.
