Nail Salon Ransacked, Huggles Little Snugglers Stolen: Police Blotter

Oak Park police reports, July 15-17

WEDNESDAY, JULY 17

Bike, Power Drill Stolen

Someone used a pry tool to break into a garage in the 700 block of Wisconsin Avenue between 6 p.m. July 16 and 4 a.m. July 17 and stole a men's bike, a power drill and a few other tools, and about $50 from the Honda that was parked in the garage. The total estimated loss is $430, police said. 

Electronics Stolen

Someone kicked through the service door of a garage in the 200 block of South Ridgeland Avenue between 9 p.m. July 16 and 8:40 a.m. July 17 and stole a GPS unit, an iPhone charger and about $7 in change. The GPS unit was found and the total estimated loss is $27, police said. 

iPad, GPS Unit Stolen

Someone stole an iPad, a GPS unit and two phone chargers from unlocked cars in a garage in the 700 block of Wisconsin Avenue between 10 p.m. July 16 and 8 a.m. July 17. The total estimated loss is $455, police said. 

TUESDAY, JULY 16

Cash Register Stolen From Restaurant

Someone used a pry tool to break into Happiness Restaurant, 6222 Roosevelt Rd., between 9:30 p.m. July 14 and 10:50 a.m. July 16 and stole the cash register, which contained about $70. The total estimated loss is $520, police said. 

Stereo Piece Stolen

Someone stole the stereo faceplate from a Chevy Impala in the 100 block of North Humphrey Avenue between 7 p.m. July 15 and 11 a.m. July 16. The total estimated loss is $375, police said. 

Briefcase Stolen

Someone got into a Hyundai in the 600 block of South Humphrey Avenue through an open window and stole a briefcase that contained a tool kit between 8 p.m. July 15 and 9 a.m. July 16. The total estimated loss is $200, police said. 

Diapers Swiped

A woman stole three packages of Huggles Little Snugglers diapers from Walgreens, 6412 Roosevelt Rd. around 6:20 p.m. The total estimated loss is about $36, police said. 

MONDAY, JULY 15

Window Damage

Someone broke two windows and damaged the screens at an apartment building in the 1100 block of Pleasant Street. The estimated cost of damage is $300, police said. 

Nail Salon Ransacked

Someone ransacked the office area of Glitter Nail Salon in the 900 block of Madison Street, when it was unlocked around 8 p.m., and stole a cash box containing about $30 and the DVR surveillance box. The total estimated loss is $250, police said.
