Car Stolen in Austin Boulevard: Oak Park Police Blotter

Oak Park police reports, Nov. 7-12.

MONDAY, NOV. 12

Computer Stolen From Car

An Oak Park resident reported that someone stole an E-Machine notebook computer after breaking into their car in the 300 block of south Wesley sometime between Nov. 8-12. The estimated loss was $350.

Cash Stolen at Bar Louie

The theft of about $200 cash and a checkbook containing receipts was reported at Bar Louie, in the 1100 block of Lake Street, at about 4:30 p.m. The total loss was reported at $210.

Domestic Battery Arrest

Shantavia N. McKenzie, 23, of the 5500 block of west Parker in Chicago, was charged with with domestic battery at about 2:10 p.m. on the 100 block of Madison. She was issued a court date and held in lieu of bond.

Drug Paraphernalia Found

Two Oak Park teens were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia in the 100 block of Lombard at about 2:47 p.m. Both were later released on bond.

No Driver's License

Froilan Abarca, 23, of the 5000 block of west Altgeld in Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid license at about 5:17 a.m. in the 1000 block of Lake Street. Abarca was released after posting bond.

SATURDAY, NOV. 10

Violation of Order of Protection

William L. Ferdinand, 49, of the 600 block of north LaSalle in Chicago, was charged with violating an order of protection at about 9:58 p.m. on the 600 block of Lake Street. He was held for a bond hearing.

Camera Stolen From Car

A car parked in the 1300 block of north Harlem Avenue was broken into and a Nikon digital camera was stolen, the victim reported to police, between Nov. 8-10. The estimated loss was listed at $200.

FRIDAY, NOV. 9

Retail Theft Arrest

Latrina Scott, 40, of the 800 block of north Ridgeway in Chicago, was charged with retail theft on the 6400 block of North Avenue at about 6:51p.m. She was held in lieu in bond.

Battery Arrest

Ondrea M. King, 46, of the 1600 block south Millard in Chicago was charged with battery on the 100 block of Madison at about 6:05 p.m. King was processed and released on bond.

THURSDAY, NOV. 8

Car Stolen

An Oak Park resident reported that their black 2002 Volkswagen GTS was stolen while it was parked in a parking lot in the 400 block of north Austin Boulevard between 7:45 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. The estimated loss was $8,200.

Juvenile Charged with Battery

A male juvenile from Oak Park as charged with aggravated battery at about 9:15 a.m. in the 900 block of North Avenue. He was transported to the station and released later to a guardian.

Juvenile Arrested for Theft at Percy Julian Middle School

An Oak Park juvenile was arrested for a theft that occurred Oct. 22 at Percy Julian Middle School, police reported. They were later turned over to a parent.

Checkbook/Wallet Stolen From Car

An Oak Park resident reported that someone broke into their car while it was parked on the 900 block of South Boulevard overnight between Nov. 7-8. Stolen was a blue leather wallet with about $20 in cash, identification cards and a checkbook.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 7

Burglary to Home Reported

An Oak Park resident told police that someone broke into their home on the 1200 block of north East Boulevard between 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. The burglars broke in by breaking a basement window. Reported stolen was $5 in cash from a wallet in one of the bedrooms and $20 in cash from a box in a drawer in the same bedroom. The loss and damage was estimated at $235.

Burglary to Garage

An Oak Park resident reported that someone used a pry-type tool to gain entry to the side service door of their garage on the 700 block of south Cuyler. Once inside, two bicycles were stolen for an estimated loss of $700.

Brick Used to Shatter Windshield

An Elmwood Park resident reported that someone used a large cement brick to shatter the front windshield of their 2006 Chevy Cobalt with was parked on the 300 block of Kenilworth, likely between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The estimated loss was $200.

Bike Stolen From Garage

A bike was reported stolen from a garage on the 500 block of north Cuyler overnight between Nov. 6-7. The estimated loss was $400.
