Oak Park Man Bound Girls' Hands, Feet in Home Invasion: Sheriff

Oak Park man allegedly pointed a gun in girls' faces while binding their hands and feet in a home invasion in Zion.

An Oak Park man has been charged with burglary and home invasion after he and another man allegedly bound the hands and feet of two girls in a July 28 home invasion in Zion, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said Dillon Wood, 36, of the 1100 block of Fair Oaks Avenue in Oak Park and Kyle Kennedy, 44, of Zion, allegedly entered the home through a window, pointed guns at the girls while binding their hands and feet with zip ties and took a safe from the house. The two men wore masks during the invasion, according to the release.

Wood and Kennedy both confessed to the home invasion, and admitted to committing 10 to 15 other residential burglaries in Lake County, according to the release.

Kennedy and Wood are each charged with one count of residential burglary, one count of home invasion and one count of unlawful restraint. They are being held on $250,000 bond, and are scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, Aug. 28.
