Police Arrest Man for DUI After He Crashed Into Trees, Light Pole

James McCartney, 45, of the 700 block of Wesley Avenue in Oak Park was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and marijuana around 3:15 p.m. in the 200 block of Harrison Street. A witness told police they saw McCartney driving an Acura west on Harrison, then cross over to the eastbound lanes, drive over the curb and hit two trees and a light pole, police said. He was charged with DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia, processed and released after posting bond.  

Bike Theft

Someone cut a cable lock to steal a $200 women’s bike in the 1100 block of North Boulevard between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.  

Stolen Cars Recovered

  • A grey 2000 Dodge Caravan reported stolen May 21 in Chicago was found in the 1000 block of South Austin Avenue around 1:40 a.m.   
  • A blue 2012 Mazda reported stolen around 11:15 a.m. was found in Chicago around 11:30 p.m.
