Oak Park Man, 91, Struck, Killed by Car on Scoville

Man on bike struck by car on Scoville Avenue about 8 p.m. Thursday.

A 91-year-old Oak Park man was killed Thursday night when the three-wheeled cycle he was riding was struck by a car at Scoville Avenue and Madison Street, according to a news release from the Village of Oak Park.

Suleyman Cetin, of the 500 block of Madison Street, was pedaling north on Scoville at about 8 p.m., apparently attempting to cross Madison when he was struck by the westbound sedan driven by Rolando Ivory, 46, of Bellwood, according to the release.

Cetin was transported to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood where he was pronounced dead at about 10 p.m.

Ivory was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
