Teen Hits Cop, $12,700 in Photo Equipment Stolen in Burglary: Police

Also in Oak Park police reports: Controlled substance possession arrests; Watches stolen in burglary; Man arrested for stealing Jagermeister; Man throws can at CTA employee.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

Car Break-in on Euclid

A Hinsdale resident reported someone broke out the driver's side window of their Lexus in the 100 block of North Euclid Avenue and stole $10 in change between 7 p.m. Sept. 8 and 7:30 a.m. Sept. 9. The total estimated loss is $230, police said. 

$12,000 in Photo Equipment Stolen

Someone used a pry tool to break into a home in the 1100 block of Lyman Avenue and stole two camera bags containing photography equipment between 10 a.m. Sept. 8 and 2 p.m. Sept. 9. The total estimated loss is $12,740, police said.

Teen Charged With Aggravated Battery

Police charged a 16-year-old Berwyn boy with aggravated battery and resisting a peace officer after he struck an officer who intervened in a fight in the 700 block of Lake Street about 3:40 p.m. 

Theft Attempt on LeMoyne

A teenage boy tried to steal a scooter from a yard in the 0-100 block of LeMoyne Avenue about 4 p.m., but dropped it when the scooter owner chased him down the street. No loss reported, police said. 

Warrant Arrest

Police charged Bridy Robinson, 56, of Maywood, with a warrant out of Broadview for a traffic violation about 7:45 p.m. He was given an Oct. 21 court date and held on $10,000 bond. 

Controlled Substance Possession

Police charged Tiffany Hall, 18, of Aurora and Alejandro Junco, 22, of Naperville, with possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop in the 400 block of South Austin Boulevard about 7 p.m. 

Bike Theft Arrest

Police charged Devonta Kimble, 21, of Chicago, and a 16-year-old boy from Chicago, with stealing a bike in the 200 block of Clinton Avenue about 10:50 p.m. 

4 Watches Stolen in Burglary

Someone ransacked an apartment in the 800 block of South Austin Boulevard and stole four women's watches between 7:40 a.m. and 5 p.m. The total estimated loss is $450, police said. 

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8

Trespassing Arrest

Police charged Jennifer Boyle, 26, of Chicago, with trespassing after she refused to leave the Carleton of Oak Park about 12:15 a.m. She was processed and released on bond. 

Man Arrested for Bike Theft

Police charged Anthony Wilson, 45, of Chicago, with theft after an officer witnessed him stealing a bike in the 700 block of Lombard on Sept. 7, then saw him looking through garbage cans in the 200 block of Humphrey on Sept. 8. He was charged with felony theft and scavenging and held on bond. 

Car Stereo Stolen

Someone stole a car stereo from a Honda in an unlocked garage in the 800 block of Highland Avenue between 10 p.m. Sept. 7 and 8 a.m. Sept. 8. The total estimated loss is $179.99, police said.

Teen Arrested for Bike Theft

Police charged a Chicago juvenile with theft after he was found in possession of a stolen bike around 3 p.m. He was arrested in the 100 block of South Wesley Avenue and released to his mother. 

Jagermeister Thief Arrested

Police charged Anthony Thomas, 28, of the 800 block of North Euclid Avenue in Oak Park, with retail theft at Dominick's, 259 Lake St., after a store security officer saw him steal a bottle of Jagermeister about 3:50 p.m. He was processed and released on bond. 

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7

iPod, Quarters Stolen

Someone used a large stone to break a car window in the 600 block of North Boulevard and steal an iPod and $10 in quarters between 7 p.m. Sept. 1 and 6 p.m. Sept. 7. The total estimated loss is $660, police said.

Bikes Stolen

  • Someone stole a $300 bike locked to a basketball hoop in a yard in the 900 block of Kenilworth Avenue between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
  • Someone broke a lock to steal a $730 bike from a parking garage in the 0-100 block of Erie Court between noon and 1:40 p.m.
  • Someone stole a $1,000 bike from a yard in the 700 block of South Lombard Avenue between 5 and 6:30 p.m. 

Car Stolen

Someone stole a white Ford Aerostar from a lot in the 500 block of North Humphrey Avenue between midnight and 5 a.m. The total estimated loss is $1,500, police said. 

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6

Leaving Scene of Accident Arrest

Police charged Beverly Ramirez, 26, of Chicago, with leaving the scene of an accident about 11:50 a.m. She was processed and released on bond. 

Women's Shoes Stolen

Someone stole a package containing two pairs of women's shoes from the lobby of a building in the 100 block of North Kenilworth Avenue between 1:45 and 4 p.m. The total estimated loss is $70, police said.

Man Throws Soda Can at CTA Employee

Police charged Gerald Philips, 23, of Chicago, with disorderly conduct after he threw an empty soda can at a CTA employee about 1 p.m. He was processed and held on bond. 

Bikes Stolen

  • Someone stole two bikes from an unlocked garage in the 1100 block of Clinton Avenue between 6 p.m. Sept. 5 and 7 a.m. Sept. 6. The total estimated loss is $600, police said. 
  • Someone broke a lock and stole a bike in the 0-100 block of Erie Court around 3:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $160, police said.

Slim-fit Shirts Stolen

Someone stole two slim-fit Banana Republic shirts from a UPS package in the 400 block of North Ridgeland Avenue between noon and 4 p.m. The total estimated loss is $101, police said. 

Invalid License Arrest

Police charged Lafaibeian Parker, 18, of Chicago, with driving without a valid license or proof of insurance about 8 p.m. in the 1100 block of Chicago Avenue.

Someone stole a $349 bike from an open garage in the 700 block of South Lyman Avenue between 6 and 10 a.m.

Intruder Interrupted by Barking Dog

Someone used a pry tool to try to break into a home in the 300 block of South Taylor Street about 1 a.m. The intruder ran when the dog started barking, police said. 

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3

GPS Unit, Camera Stolen From Car

Someone stole a GPS unit and a digital camera from an unlocked car in the 400 block of South Scoville Avenue between 7 p.m. Sept. 2 and 8 a.m. Sept. 3. The total estimated loss is $400, police said. 

Bike Stolen

Someone stole an unattended bike from a yard in the 600 block of South Clinton Avenue between 8 p.m. Sept. 2 and 3:45 p.m. Sept. 3. The total estimated loss is $200, police said.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1

Bike Stolen

Someone stole a $300 girls bike from a yard in the 800 block of South East Avenue between 3 p.m. Aug. 31 and 3 p.m. Sept. 1.
