SUV Stolen

A Land Rover valued at $15,000 was stolen while parked in the 0-100 block of Madison Street.

JULY 24

Residential Burglary

A laptop computer and diamond ring were stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of North Austin Boulevard. Estimated loss was $3,000.

JULY 25

Bike Theft

A blue bike was stolen from the 1100 block of South Boulevard when the cable lock was cut. Estimated loss was $150.

JULY 26

Possession of a Stolen Car

Nicholas Hearring, AKA Nathan Hearring, of the 1000 block of North Lawler Avenue in Chicago, was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle in the 1100 block of South Oak Park Avenue, police said.

July 27

Bike Theft

A blue women's hybrid bike locked to a rack in the 1100 block of North Boulevard was stolen. Estimated loss was $300.

Residential Burglary

A Nintendo Wii video game console valued at $350 was stolen during a break-in to a residence in the 0-100 block of Thomas Avenue.

Burglaries

A laptop computer and $400 cash was stolen during a break-in to Snow White Cleaners, 40 Chicago Avenue. On July 28, more than $1,200 in cash was stolen from nearby Austin Pantry, 1 Chicago Avenue. In that incident, a witness told police they'd seen a man running away from the ransacked store.

JULY 28

Criminal Trespass to Vehicle Arrest

Donald Williams, 36, of Michigan, was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle after he was ID'd as the offender who entered without a permission a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of South Euclid Avenue.

Theft

A backpack containing keys, a cell phone, IDs and a wallet was stolen from a customer at Wendy's, 11 N. Harlem Ave.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

A landscaping brick was used to smash the driver's side window of a black Toyota Highlander parked in the 700 block of Le Moyne Parkway. Estimated damage was $200.

Bike Theft

A bike locked to a street meter in the 900 South Oak Park Avenue was stolen. Estimated loss was $100.

Pants Theft

A delivery package containing two pairs of women's pants, valued at a combined $176, was stolen from outside a residence in the 700 block of Linden Avenue.

Criminal Damage to Properties

Two ceramic pots in the 1000 block of North Boulevard valued at $1,000 were broken by unknown means. Around the same time, the barber pole outside Westgate Barbers, 1105 Westgate Lane, was also reported damaged.

iPad Theft

An iPad valued at $500 was stolen during a party in the 600 block of South Lombard Avenue.

JULY 29

Laptop Theft

A patron's Toshiba laptop valued at $500 was stolen from the main branch of the Oak Park Public Library, 834 W. Lake St.

iPod Theft

A man who asked to listen to another man's iPod in order to listen to his music instead ran off with the device.

AUG. 1

Bike Theft

A black and white Schwinn bike valued at $100 was stolen from the back yard of a home in the 700 block of Wisconsin Avenue.

AUG. 2

DUI Arrest

Anthony Junkun, 20, of the 1000 block of South Mayfield Avenue in Chicago, was charged with drunken driving after a vehicle crash in the 700 block of South Austin Boulevard, police said.

Village Sticker Swiped

A Village of Oak Park vehicle sticker was stolen from a vehicle parked in the lot in the 200 block of South Marion Street.

Business Burglaries

The glass door of Frank's Barber Shop, 128 Madison St., was broken and the cash register was tampered with in an apparent burglary attempt. Around the same time, about $1,300 was stolen from the cash register at nearby Lady's Choice, 6 Madison St, in a similarly styled break-in.

Catalytic Converter Thefts

Catalytic converters from two Honda vehicles have been stolen. The first theft took place to a 2003 Honda Element parked in the 1000 block of Washington Boulevard; the second took place to another Honda Element parked in the 100 block of South Harvey Avenue. Combined, the devices was valued at $1,000.

Robbery Attempt

Three people beat up and demanded money from a fellow passenger in a beige minivan in the 1100 block of Thomas Avenue. The passenger was able to exit the van and run away.

Possession of a Stolen Car

Willie Frazer, 21, of the 100 block of North Lotus Avenue in Chicago, was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle after a traffic stop in the 0-100 block of Jackson Boulevard, police said.
