AUG. 13

Burglary

Copper piping and bathroom fixtures was stolen from several vacant units inside a building in the 100 block of Washington Boulevard.

Bike Theft

A boys bicycle valued at $50 was stolen from a garage in the 200 block of North Taylor Avenue.

Obstructing a Peace Officer

Howard Walker, 26, of the 8400 block of South Marshfield Avenue in Chicago, was charged with a obstructing a peace officer and criminal trespass while in the 1100 block of Garfield Street, police officer.

AUG. 14-15

Criminal Damage

Several vehicles parked in the 100 block of North Humphrey, and one vehicle in the 1200 block of Columbian Avenue, had their tires punctured.

AUG. 15

Garage Burglary

A homeowner watched a thief ride away on a women’s bicycle stolen from a garage in the 1100 block of South Gunderson Avenue.

Retail Theft Arrest

Marcus Dean, 21, of the 1000 block of Elgin Avenue in Forest Park, was charged with retail theft after he was caught stealing from CVS Pharmacy, 6748 W. Roosevelt Road, police said.

Residential Burglary

A laptop, netbook, portable TV, DVD player and various toiletries were stolen from a residence in the 100 block of North Humphrey Avenue. Estimated loss was $490.

Theft Arrest

Alexandra Karman, 73, of Rosemont, was charged with theft after a July 12 incident in the 1000 block of South Humphrey Avenue, police said.

Criminal Damage

The driver’s side tire of a Ford Fiesta parked in the 0-100 block of Randolph Street was slashed, causing an estimated $150 in damage.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Power tools valued at $2,0000 were stolen from a landscaping company’s locked trailer parked in the 600 block of South Kenilworth Avenue.

Theft

An iPhone, change purse and wallet containing cash and credit cards was stolen from an Oak Park resident while in the 200 block of South Marion Street. Estimated loss was $891.

Theft from Person

A woman walking in the 800 block of South Austin Boulevard had her cell phone stolen by a teenager who rode past her on a bicycle and swiped the device. Estimated loss was $180.

Bike Theft

A blue Cannondale bicycle valued at $500 was stolen from the backyard of a home in the 800 block of North Humphrey Avenue.

Attempted Burglary Arrest

Devon Lawery, 19, of the 4600 block of Monroe Street in Chicago, was charged with attempted burglary after he was spotted on the roof of a business in the 0-100 block of Madison Street, police said. In his possession were a pair of gloves, a flashlight and a cutting tool police believe was used to cut a hole in the building’s roof. Lawery was also arrested on a Cook County warrant for criminal trespass to a residence.

AUG. 15-16

Bike Theft

A Schwinn bike locked to a rack in the 100 block of South Oak Park Avenue was stolen. Estimated loss was $350.

AUG. 16

DUI Charge

Kristopher Reich, 23, of Franklin Park, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after a traffic stop in the 2100 block of South First Avenue in Maywood, police said. He was also arrested on a warrant out of Franklin Park for driving on a suspended license.

Retail Theft Arrest

Kirk O’Connor, 40, of Arizona, was charged with retail theft after he was caught stealing from a grocery store in the 200 block of Lake Street, police said

Residential Burglaries

An Apple iPad, digital camera, headphones and cash valued at a combined $930 were stolen from an unlocked residence in the 100 block of North Lombard Avenue.

A laptop computer valued at $600 was stolen during a break-in to a residence in the 600 block of North Humphrey Avenue.

AUG. 16

Disorderly Conduct Arrests

Jessie Jackson, 39, of the 1300 block of North Harlem Avenue in Oak Park, was charged with disorderly conduct after an incident in the 1100 block of Lake Street, police said.

Gerard Thompson, 51, of the 1000 block of South Beloit Avenue in Forest Park, was charged with disorderly conduct after an incident in the 300 block of North Austin Boulevard, police said.

Garage Burglary

A red men’s bicycle valued at $500 was stolen from an open garage in the 500 block of South Harvey Avenue.

AUG. 17

Criminal Damage

A brick was tossed through the rear window of a 2005 Scion parked in the 500 block of Harrison Street, causing about $300 in damage.
