AUG. 2-3

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

A GPS navigation unit and three flashlights were stolen from a car parked in the 1110 block of Wisconsin Avenue.

Bike Theft

A bicycle valued at $100 was stolen from an open garage door in the 800 block of South Lombard Avenue.

A blue bike valued at $300 was stolen from 1000 block of North Hayes Avenue.

Punctured Tires

The passenger side tires on a 2002 Volvo parked in the 1110 block of Highland Avenue were punctured with some sort of cutting tool, causing about $250 in damages.

Criminal Damage

A paver brick was used to smash the rear passenger window of a red Ford Escape parked in the 700 block of Lyman Avenue, causing about $200 in damage.

Bike Thefts

Three bikes valued at a combined $200 were stolen from an open garage in the 1000 block of South Grove Avenue.

A red and grey bike locked in the back yard of a home in the 0-100 block of Iowa Street was stolen. Estimated loss was $115.

Thefts

A bike valued at $1,040 was stolen from a rack in the 1100 block of North Boulevard.

A watch and wallet were stolen from a locked locker inside a business in the 200 block of South Marion Street.

Attempted Burglary Arrests

Two unidentified Chicago juveniles were charged with attempted burglary after they were caught trying to break into a garage in the 100 block of North Lombard Avenue, police said.

Attempted Residential Burglary

A window of a residential building in the 400 block of South Austin Boulevard was broken during what police believe was a burglary attempt.

Criminal Damage

A brick was used to smash the rear window of a gray 2009 Hyundai parked in the 800 block of North Hayes Avenue.

Theft Arrest

DeWayne Rodgers, 42, of the 800 block of North Monticello Avenue in Chicago, was charged with theft and possession of burglary tools after he was caught with a set of wheel caps stolen from a Cadillac parked in the 5900 block of Ohio Street in Chicago, police said.

Criminal Damage Reports

Police believe a BB gun was used to shoot out the window of a business in the 6800 block of North Avenue.

A brick was used to dent the rear driver’s side quarter panel of a car parked in the 800 block of Hayes Avenue, causing about $500 in damage.

Residential Burglary

Two laptop computers valued at a combined $4,180 were stolen during an break-in to a residence in the 1000 block of North Taylor Avenue.

Retail Theft Arrests

Gerald Washington, 43, of the 0-100 block of Mason Avenue in Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft after he was caught stealing 23 bottles of body wash from a grocery store in the 200 block of Lake Street, police said.

Kynan Williams, 34, of the 3000 block of North Cicero Avenue in Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft after he was caught stealing eighteen bottles of cognac and tequila valued at a combined $1,000 from a grocery store in the 200 block of Lake Street, police said.

Attempted Residential Burglary Arrests

Two unidentified Chicago girls were charged with attempted residential burglary after they were caught trying to kick in the back door of a home in the 700 block of North Hayes Avenue, police said. The girls were also charged in connection with a Aug. 16 residential burglary in the 600 block of North Humphrey Avenue, police said

Criminal Damage

The rear windshield and window of a 2007 Toyota parked in the 1000 block of North Grove Avenue were damaged.

AUG. 20

Burglary

A bicycle and bike frame were stolen during a burglary to a garage in the 700 block of Lyman Avenue. Estimated loss was $350.

Aggravated Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police

Tommie Milton, 54, of the 1000 block of Drake Avenue in Chicago, was charged with aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude police after a series of Aug. 15 “traffic offenses” in the 600 block of South Kenilworth Avenue, police said.

Theft

A wallet was stolen from a woman’s wallet while she was in an office in the 0-100 block of Erie Court.

Residential Burglary

A big screen television, PlayStation 3 video game console and a Sharp entertainment system were stolen during a break-in to an apartment in the 1100 block Harrison Street.

Theft from Person

An offender who said he was looking to make change stole about $86 from a Chicago man in the 1100 block of South Boulevard who was trying to help him out.

Burglary Arrest

Michael Little, 47, of the 3200 block of West Fulton in Chicago, was charged with burglary after he was caught stealing while in the 300 block of North Taylor Avenue.

Retail Theft Arrest

Linda Dixson-McCall, 57, of the 100 block of South Harvey Avenue, was charged with retail theft after she was caught stealing from Dominick’s Finer Foods, 259 Lake St., police said.

AUG. 21

Garage Burglary

A snowblower valued at $900 was stolen from a partially open garage in the 1000 block of Lyman Avenue.

Bike Theft

A woman’s purple bicycle was stolen from the backyard of a home in the 800 block of North Harvey Avenue. Estimated loss was $280.

Criminal Damage to Autos

Four vehicles — two parked in the 600 block of Ontario Street, one parked in the 300 block of North East Avenue and another parked in the 100 block of North Grove Avenue — were scratched, causing a combined $4,500 in damage.
