Oak Park Police Blotter: Candy Bars Forced into Car's Gas Tank

DUIs, battery and bike burglaries also reported.

The following items are taken from daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Theft Charge: Tarik L. Allen, 23, of 3204 W. Fulton St. in Chicago, was charged with theft in the 900 block of South Lombard Avenue on Wednesday, March 9, police said.

Theft: A green bicycle was stolen from a bike rack in the 0-100 block of North Ridgeland Avenue on Wednesday, March 9. Estimated loss $200.

Theft: A men's bicycle and its U-lock were stolen from a bike rack in the 600 block of South Boulevard on Wednesday, March 9. Estimated loss $485.

Marijuana Possession: A minor was charged with marijuana possession in the 100 block of North Cuyler Avenue on Wednesday, March 9, police said.

Aggravated Battery: Tarik Page, 35, of 1458 S. Canal St. in Chicago, was charged with aggravated battery, resisting a peace officer, aggravated assault and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 100 block of South Taylor Street on Wednesday, March 9, police said.

DUI Charge: Valerie Stewart, 21, of New Lenox, was charged with drunken driving after an accident at the intersection of Harlem Avenue and Madison Street on Wednesday, March 9, police said.

Criminal Damage: All four tires belonging to a vehicle parked in the 0-100 block of Harrison Street were slashed, causing an estimated $1,200 in damage on Wednesday, March 9.

Criminal Damage:
The passenger door window of a vehicle parked in the 600 block of North Kenilworth Avenue was broken, causing $150 in damage between Monday, March 7 and Tuesday, March 8.

Burglary:
An envelope containing $3,990 was stolen from a vehicle parked in the parking lot of , 401 N. Harlem Ave., between Tuesday, March 7 and Wednesday, March 8.

Burglary: Four hundred dollars cash was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of South Oak Park Avenue between Monday, March 7 and Tuesday, March 8.

Burglary: A tan tackle box, a Rappala fileting knife, 20 fishing lures, a weed whacker and a branch cutter were stolen from an open garage in the 1100 block of South Cuyler Avenue on Monday, March 7. Loss estimated at $370.

Retail Theft Charge: Michael J. Reno, 18, of 846 S. East Ave., was charged with retail theft at , 6748 Roosevelt Rd., on Monday, March 7, police said.

Theft: A blue women's bicycle from a bike rack in the 1100 block of North Boulevard on Monday, March 7. Loss estimated at $500.

Possession of a Controlled Substance Charge: Justin R. Parker, 20, of 1128 N. Drury Lane in Arlington Heights, was charged with possession of a controlled substance in the 900 block of North Austin Boulevard on Monday, March 7, police said.

Unlawful Use of a Weapon Charge: Jessica M. Speiden, 21, of Elmhurst, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon (UUW) in the 400 block of Austin Boulevard on Monday, March 7, police said.

Theft: An E-reader and its case were stolen from a victim in the 100 block of South Oak Park Avenue on Monday, March 7. Loss estimated at $350.

DUI Charge: Darrius Hodrick, 57, of 1145 N. Latrobe Ave. in Chicago, was charged with aggravated drunken driving and driving while license suspended, and was cited for traffic in the 400 block of Lake Street on Monday, March 7, police said.

Burglary: A blue bicycle was stolen from an unlocked garage in the 1100 block of North Oak Park Avenue between March 6 and Monday, March 7. Loss estimated at $416.

Car Theft: A red 1985 Honda CH80 Scooter valued at $500 was stolen from an unlocked storage shed in the 6100 block of Roosevelt Road between March 6 and Monday, March 7.

Theft: A tempered glass window of the , 610 S. Ridgeland Ave., was broken on March 6. Damage estimated at $600.

Marijuana Possession: Jamie Rojas, 24, of 1505 S. Wenonah Ave. in Berwyn, was charged with marijuana possession and driving while license suspended after a traffic stop in the 500 block of South Ridgeland Avenue on March 6, police said.

DUI Charge: Jonathon J. Rivera, 19, of 5845 W. Giddings St. in Chicago, was charged with drunken driving after crashing his vehicle in the 1100 block of Edmer Avenue on March 6, police said.

Criminal Damage: Chocolate candy bars were shoved into the fuel tanks of two vehicles in the 0-100 block of Madison Street between March 5 and 6, causing an unknown amount of damage.

Theft: A MacBook Pro laptop computer was stolen from inside a residence in the 700 block of Belleforte Avenue between March 5 and March 6. Loss estimated at $600.

DUI Charge: Terrance G. Patton, 26, of 1748 N. Mason Ave. in Chicago, was charged with drunken driving after a traffic stop in the 300 block of West Garfield Street on March 5, police said.

Aggravated DUI Charge: Rogers D. Head, 33, of 1911 Kenilworth Ave. in Berwyn, was charged with aggravated drunken driving and driving while license revoked after a traffic stop in the 1100 block of South Austin Boulevard on March 5, police said.

Theft: A wallet containing cash, a driver's license and credit cards valued at $88 was stolen from a victim at the Tasty Dog, 708 W. Lake St., on March 5.

Criminal Damage: Both driver's side tires of a vehicle parked in a garage in 1100 block of Ontario Street were punctured, causing around $350 worth of damage, between March 4 and March 5.

Theft: A copper mailbox valued at $400 was stolen from the ground in the 200 block of South Euclid Avenue between March 4 and March 5.

Burglary: A gray garage door opener was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 800 block of North Cuyler Avenue between March 4 and March 5 after the window was smashed. The burglar then used the opener to open the victim's garage and remove a yellow Trek Sports men's bike. Total loss and damage estimated at $1,405.

Car Theft: An olive green 2000 Jeep Cherokee valued at $4,000 was stolen in the 600 block of South Lombard Avenue between Feb. 21 and March 5.

Criminal Trespass: Michael L. Booker, 28, of 5229 S. Paulina Ave. in Chicago, was charged with criminal trespass to state supported land in the 200 block of Scoville Avenue on March 4, police said.

Theft: An Apple iPod Nano and $1 in cash were stolen from a backpack in a locker room at , 201 N. Scoville Ave., on March 4. Loss estimated at $151.

Aggravated Assault: While a Chicago man was stopped in traffic in the 300 block of Madison Street, another man driving a dirty red pickup truck pointed a silver semi-automatic handgun at him before fleeing on March 4.

Theft: A gray Dell Inspirion laptop and $2 cash were stolen from an apartment in the 100 block of North Humphrey Avenue on March 4. Total loss estimated at $302.

Burglary: A case containing 20 DVDs, two garage door openers and two wireless headphone sets estimated at $580 were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1200 block of Linden Avenue between March 2 and March 3.

Theft:
An envelope containing $620 in rent money was stolen from under a landlord's door in the 1000 block of North Boulevard on March 1.

Theft:
A statue from the common area valued at $350 was stolen from , 715 Lake St. #600, between Feb. 23 and Feb. 25.
