Oak Park Police Blotter: Cement Lion Stolen
Arrests for pot possession, car parts theft and more.
The following items are taken from the daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Theft: A 26-inch bicycle was taken sometime between Aug. 3 and Aug. 4 from underneath the steps of the rear porch of a home in the 100 block of North Taylor Avenue.
Burglary to Auto: A GPS unit and change were taken sometime between Aug. 3 and Aug. 4 from the center console of an unlocked 2010 Mini-Cooper parked in the 200 block of Flournoy Street.

Residential Burglary: An Xbox 360, Blu-ray DVD player and a 37-inch television set were taken Aug. 4 from a home in the 1100 block of South Taylor Avenue. Estimated loss was $1,400.
Theft: A wallet containing miscellaneous identification cards and cash was removed Aug. 3 from the purse of a customer at the , 100 S. Marion St.

Marijuana Possession: Ryan Reyes, 28, of Oak Park, was charged Aug. 4 with marijuana possession, police said. The arrest was the result of a narcotics investigation in the 0-100 block of Harrison Street, police said.
Criminal Damage Arrest: Leslie Morris, 19, and Kendrick Williams, 24, both of Chicago, were charged Aug. 2 with attempted theft from an auto, unlawful damage to a vehicle and criminal damage to property after they were caught trying to steal a catalytic converter from underneath a 1997 Toyota SUV parked in the 100 block of North Austin Boulevard, police said.
Theft: Five copper downspouts were taken sometime between July 30 and Aug. 2 from a home in the 600 block of Lyman Avenue. Estimated loss was $650.
Theft: A 100-pound cement lion statue was taken sometime between Aug. 2 and Aug. 3 from the front steps of a home in the 900 block of Grove Avenue. Estimated loss was $300.
Criminal Damage: A baseball was thrown through the storm window of an apartment building in the 100 block of Washington Boulevard on Aug 4.
Criminal Damage: The screen window on the front porch of a home in the 100 block of South Humphrey Avenue was damaged by a box cutter sometime between July 31 and Aug. 3.
Disorderly Conduct Arrest: A 15-year-old from Chicago was charged Aug. 3 with disorderly conduct after he discharged a fire extinguisher and tripped a fire alarm at Forest Place Apartments, 100 Forest Place, police said. The juvenile was turned over to the custody of his mother.
Outside Warrant: Eric Lee, 21, of Oak Park, was arrested July 31 on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in a Will County court on a charge of driving on a suspended license, police said.
Theft: The spare tire was removed from the underside of a 2008 Ford pickup truck parked in the 300 block of Wisconsin Avenue sometime between July 30 and July 31. Estimated loss was $200.
