Oak Park Police Blotter: Chicago Man Charged with Stealing T-Shirts

The following information was supplied by the Oak Park Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Outside Warrant: Flournoy T. Griffin, 35, of Chicago was arrested March 8 on an outstanding warrant out of Berwyn for driving on a suspended license, police said. He was apprehended after being pulled over in the 100 block of Harrison Street for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Burglary: A 26-inch bicycle was stolen sometime between March 7 and March 8 from the garage of a home in the 400 block of North Humphrey Avenue. Entry was gained by forcing open the side service door. Estimated loss was $1,000.

Residential Burglary: A television, gaming system, laptop, digital camera and four memory cards were stolen sometime between Feb. 24 and Feb. 29 from a home in the 1000 block of South Highland Avenue. Estimated loss was $2,090.

Warrant Arrest: Otis S. Sims, 37, of Oak Park was arrested March 6 on an outstanding warrant out of Cook County for aggravated DUI, police said. He was picked up in the 7300 block of West Madison Street in Chicago.

Warrant Arrest: Kasey D. Thompson, 26, of Oak Park was arrested March 6 on an outstanding warrant out of Cook County for endangering the life and health of a child, police said. He was apprehended in the 700 block of South Humphrey Avenue.

Warrant Arrest: Emily L. Thompson, 32, of Oak Park was arrested March 6 on an outstanding warrant out of Cook County for possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. She was apprehended in the 700 block of South Humphrey Avenue.

Retail Theft: Terrion L. Mitchell, 20, of Chicago was charged with retail theft March 6 for attempting to steal four pens from Dominick’s Finer Foods, 259 Lake St.

Unlawful Possession: Christopher A. Reyes, 24, of Oak Park was arrested March 5 on an Oak Park warrant for unlawful possession of cannabis, police said. He was apprehended in the 1100 block of South Harvey Avenue.

Retail Theft: Calvin R. Purnell, 60, of Chicago was charged with felony retail theft March 4 for attempting to leave Deals, 6405 W. North Ave. with three packages of t-shirts, valued at $16.39, police said.

Residential Burglary: Two rolls of quarters and a cell phone were stolen March 4 from an apartment in the 1300 block of North Austin Boulevard. Entry was gained by pushing in the front door. Estimated loss was $120.

Theft: A cell phone was stolen March 2 from the display at AT&T, 425 N. Harlem Ave. Estimated loss was $550.

Criminal Damage: The driver’s side door and side panel were scratched March 5 on a rented 2012 Chevy Express van parked in the Avenue Garage, 720 North Blvd. Damage was estimated at $500.

Theft: A UPS package containing an guitar amp was taken March 5 from inside the common area vestibule of a building in the 900 block of North Boulevard. Estimated loss was $1,000.
