Oak Park Police Blotter: Diamond Ring Stolen From West Sub Patient

The following items are taken from daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurs, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Traffic Charges: Juan M. Ibanez, 37, of 1407 Elmwood Ave. in Berwyn, was charged with aggravated driving  with a revoked license after a Saturday, Feb. 5 traffic stop in the 1200 block of North Austin Boulevard, police said. Ibanez's record also showed multiple convictions for DWLR and drunken driving.

Burglary:
Two dollars in coins were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1100 block of North Taylor Avenue between the dates of Friday, Feb. 4 and Saturday, Feb. 5.

Criminal Damage:
The driver's door window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of North Lombard Avenue was shot out, possibly by a BB-type projectile, between the dates of Thursday, Feb. 3 and Friday, Feb. 4. Damage is estimated at $150.

Criminal Damage:
The front driver's side window of a vehicle parked in the 900 block of South Taylor Avenue was broken between the dates of Wednesday, Feb. 2 and Thursday, Feb. 3.

Retail Theft Arrest:
Shantiara M. Mitchell, 22, of 1644 N. Long Ave. in Chicago, was charged with retail theft after she was caught stealing from Okay Beauty Supply, 8 Lake St., on Wednesday, Feb. 2, police said.

Theft:
A yellow sapphire and white diamond in white gold setting women's ring, valued at $4,000, was stolen from a patient at , 3 Erie Ct., between the dates of Monday, Jan. 31 and Tuesday, Feb. 1.

Criminal Damage:
The front door of a residence in the 100 block of South Austin Boulevard was damaged after it was forced open, breaking the door off its lock, between the dates of Jan. 28 and Tuesday, Feb. 1.

Theft:
A black Samsung 1390 flip phone valued at $100 was stolen from a victim in the 100 block of South Oak Park Avenue on Monday, Jan. 31.

Battery:
Two customers at BP Gas Station, 6119 North Ave., were involved in a verbal dispute with a male offender on Monday, Jan. 31. The offender slapped both victims in the face, then choked one victim with his hands before exiting the area in a gold-colored vehicle.

Burglary:
A navy blue Victoria's Secret canvas bag containing clothing and makeup products valued at $500 was stolen from a locked vehicle in the 400 block of South Cuyler Avenue after the offender shattered the front passenger window on Monday, Jan. 31.

Theft:
A black Burton jacket, containing a brown wallet with cash, ID and credit cards, was stolen from a closed locker at , 1144 Lake St., on Monday, Jan. 31. Loss is valued at $400.

Burglary:
A GPS navigation unit valued at $350 was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of North Taylor Avenue after the front driver's side window was broken out between the dates of Jan. 30 and Monday, Jan. 31.

Motorcycle Theft:
A blue and white 2009 Yamaha YZF motorcycle valued at $12,070 was stolen from the 700 block of Van Buren Street between the dates of Jan. 24 and Monday, Jan. 31.

Criminal Damage:
The rear windshield of a vehicle parked in a parking garage in the 500 block of South Maple Avenue was shattered on Jan. 30. Damage estimated at $500.

Domestic Battery Charge:
Terrell Stiff, 27, of 818 S. Austin Blvd., was charged with domestic battery at his residence on Jan. 30, police said.

Theft Charge:
Jose R. Vega, 23, of 1525 S. 59th Ave. in Cicero, was charged with a previous theft at Oak Park Township Senior Services, 418 S. Oak Park Ave., police said. Vega was charged at his home Jan. 30.

Domestic Battery Charge:
Zachary F. Koran, 33, of 2108 N. Sawyer Ave. in Chicago, was charged with battery after a traffic stop in the 400 block of Wisconsin Avenue on Jan. 30, police said.

Theft:
A purse containing a Sony digital camera, cash, credit cards and ID, valued at a combined $335 was stolen from a victim in the 1100 block of North Boulevard on Jan. 29.

Burglary:
A GPS navigation unit valued at $150 was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Harrison Street between the dates of Jan. 26 and Jan. 28.
