Oak Park Police Blotter: Hats Stolen From Ten Thousand Villages

The following information was supplied by the Oak Park Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary to Auto: Power tools valued at $700 were stolen sometime between Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 from a 2005 Chevrolet van parked in the 1000 block of Home Avenue.

Burglary: A GPS unit and $2 in change were taken sometime between Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 from a 2006 Hyundai Tucson parked in the garage of a home in the 1000 block of Highland Avenue. Entry was gained through an unlocked side service door.

Burglary: A 2006 Chevrolet Impala parked in the garage of a home in the 1000 block of Highland Avenue was ransacked sometime between Nov. 5 and Nov. 7 but nothing was taken. Entry was gained through an unlocked side service door. Estimated damage was $150.

Burglary: An in-dash CD player and receiver, $1 in change, an I-Pass transponder, GPS unit and parking garage transponder were taken sometime between Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 from a 1995 Honda Civic and 2011 Subaru Outback parked in the garage of a home in the 1000 block of Erie Street. Entry was gained through an unlocked side service door. Estimated loss was $361.

Burglary to Auto: Approximately $1 in change was taken sometime between Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 from a 2002 Volvo S80 parked in the 1000 block of Superior Street. Entry was gained by damaging the front passenger’s side window. Estimated loss and damage were $102.

Burglary: Three bicycles were stolen sometime between Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 from the garage of a home in the 1000 block of Erie Street and an electric key and $1 in change was taken from a 2010 Mazda CX9 parked inside. Entry was gained through an unlocked side service door. Estimated loss was $1,436.

Criminal Damage: The side service door and frame on the garage of a home in the 100 block of North Cuyler were damaged with a pry-type tool sometime between Nov. 6 and Nov. 7. Estimated damage was $75.

Theft from Auto: A catalytic converter was taken Nov. 4 from underneath a 2002 Chevrolet Venture parked in the 900 block of South Humphrey Avenue. Estimated loss was $150.

Theft: A locked bicycle was taken from the rack outside of , 201 N. Scoville Ave. sometime between Nov. 4 and Nov. 5. Estimated loss was $220.

Theft: An unattended bicycle was taken sometime between Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 from the front porch of a home in the 1000 block of Highland Avenue. Estimated loss was $120.

Burglary to Auto: Approximately $5 in change was taken sometime between Nov. 5 and Nov. 7 from an unlocked 2009 Cadillac CTS parked in the 800 block of Gunderson Avenue. The interior also was ransacked.

Theft: A cast iron patio chimney was taken Nov. 7 from the rear yard of a home in the 1100 block of South Humphrey Avenue. Estimated loss was $200.

Burglary to Auto: A cell phone charger and change were taken sometime between Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 from an unlocked 2008 Volvo S60 parked in the 1000 block of South Grove Avenue. Estimated loss was $25.

Burglary to Auto: A radio receiver, iPod and GPS unit were taken sometime between Nov. 6 and Nov. 7 from an unlocked 2009 Honda Civic parked in the 1100 block of Home Avenue. Estimated loss was $332.

Auto Theft: A 1995 Chevrolet Lumina van parked in the 1100 block of South Harvey Avenue was taken Nov. 8. Estimated loss was $600.

Theft: A bicycle locked to a rack at Oak Park-River Forest High School was stolen sometime between Nov. 4 and Nov. 7. Estimated loss was $771.

Retail Theft: Three perfume gift sets were taken Nov. 8 from the , 6748 Roosevelt Rd. Estimated loss was $60.

Theft Arrest: A 17-year-old from Berwyn was charged with theft Nov. 8 in connection with the attack and robbery of a fellow Pace bus passenger last week, police said. from Berwyn – both 16 – were charged Nov. 3 with taking the cell phone from a 16-year-old, also from Berwyn. The arrest took place at his home, police said.

Theft Arrest: A 17-year-old Oak Park resident turned himself in to police Nov. 4 and was charged with theft for taking an iPhone from the desk of another student at Oak Park and River Forest High School late last month, police said.

Theft Arrest: Christopher C. Pryor, 24, of Berwyn, was charged with theft for taking $20 from the , 401 Madison St., police said. The incident was caught on camera.

Theft: Eight wool winter hats were taken Nov. 5 from the shelf at , 121 N. Marion St. Estimated value was $240.

Theft Arrests: Two Chicagoans — Sharnell D. Johnson,19, and Markia Johnson, 18 — were charged with retail theft Nov. 6 after they attempted to take $236 in clothing from , 417 N. Harlem Ave., police said. The pair had been under surveillance after security saw them taking shirts, pants and outerwear and putting items in a bag. They were arrested outside the store, police said.
