UPDATE: Fatal Shooting in Oak Park

A 25-year-old Chicago man was found shot to death near the Oak Park-Chicago border. No arrests have been made.

Update, 4:16 p.m. Police in Oak Park say the shooting victim is a 25-year-old Chicago man. His name has not been released.

Authorities were called to the area of Chicago Avenue and Austin Boulevard around 6:30 a.m. and discovered a body lying the street with "what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds," according to a news release.

Witnesses told police they saw a man running from the area, located on the Oak Park-Chicago border, shortly after the shooting.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the at (708) 368-3800 or the department's anonymous tip line at (708) 434-1636. Anonymous tip can also be provided on the department's official website at www.oak-park.us/police.

Quoting the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, the Chicago Tribune reports the victim is an unidentified man in his 20s. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.

Police in Oak Park did not immediately return calls seeking comment. A Chicago Police Department spokesperson said Oak Park investigators will be handling the case.
