Cook County Medical Examiner's Office investigating the cause of teen's death.

Authorities are investigating the weekend death of an Oak Park teenager.

According to a police report, authorities responded to a home in the 800 block of South Lombard Avenue at 10:18 p.m. Saturday after the unidentified 17-year-old boy's father found him "limp and unresponsive."

Emergency crews tried to resuscitate the teen, but the attempt was unsuccessful.

Police said the boy had arrived at the house earlier in the night with his 20-year-old girlfriend. They'd called a friend to drive them home "after they realized they were too intoxicated to drive," Oak Park Police Sgt. Michael Richardson said.

The father left the couple at the house while he drove their friend home, police said. He returned an estimated 90 minutes later and discovered his son, unresponsive and not breathing.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 20-year-old woman was taken to Rush Oak Park Hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Hinsdale with non-life threatening injuries.

According to a police summary report, the teen's body was taken to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office for further investigation. Autopsy results are expected within weeks, police said.
