Oak Park Woman Charged After Back-to-Back Burglaries

Laura Mather released on bond last week for two car break-ins.

An Oak Park resident again has been charged with burglary to auto, the second time in less than a week that she was apprehended for a similar crime, authorities said.

Laura Mather, 30, was spotted Oct. 7 breaking into a 2012 Hyundai Sonata in the 800 block of Madison Street, then running down an alley and into a nearby apartment in the 400 block of South Oak Park Avenue, where she was later arrested.

Police said Mather had been released on bond just four days earlier in connection with car break-ins that took place on Oct. 3. In one, miscellaneous change was taken from a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt parked in the 400 block of South Oak Park Avenue. In the second, an iPad was taken from a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban parked in the 700 block of West Madison Street.
