SUNDAY, OCT. 14

Garage Burglarized

Police were told of a burglary to a resident's garage at about 2:10 p.m. that had occurred overnight on the 0-100 block of Thatcher. Stolen was a new Toro snow blower valued at $470.

Retail Theft Arrest

An Oak Park police officer was notified by staff at Whole Foods, 7245 Lake St., that a man had just left the market carrying a case of liquor that he did not pay for. The officer later arrested Martin J. Wallace, 52, of the 500 block of Lodge Lane in Lombard and notified River Forest police. River Forest police took custody of Wallace and, because of a prior conviction for retail theft, charged him with felony retail theft. Wallace was held for a bond hearing.

Man Arrested for Battery

Officers were called to the 400 block of Clinton after a resident reported that she had been battered in the lobby of her building. The victim told police that she was to the lobby after her doorbell was repeatedly pressed. When she entered the lobby, she saw an elderly man who she did not recognize and asked if he was looking for someone. The man became belligerent and the victim said the man slapped her on her arms and face several times when she tried to call police.

Officer arrested Robert Emmett Lee, 88, of the 500 block of Lathrop in River Forest and charged him with misdemeanor battery and released him on bond pending trial.

FRIDAY, OCT. 12

Arrested on Warrant

Police arrested Tonjaneka C. Fenner, 26, of the 1100 block of north Lawler in Chicago at about 11:25 p.m. after it was found that Fenner was wanted on a warrant out of Lake County identity theft and unlawful use of a credit card. Fenner was pulled over by police after her vehicle was seen driving with expired plates.

THURSDAY, OCT. 11

Graffiti Found

An officer on patrol reported that they found graffiti spray painted in orange, black and green paint in the pedestrian tunnel on the Metra Station located at 7979 Hawthorne at about 11 p.m. Metra police were notified and will arrange for the tunnel to be cleaned.

14 Lockers Burglarized at Dominican University

Police reported that 14 lockers in the varsity boys soccer locker room were burglarized at Dominican University. Police learned property was stolen at about 4:58 p.m. from at least five of the lockers, including cell phones, an iPad, identification and other personal items. One phone was later recovered, police said, but the case is still under investigation.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 10

Concordia Lockers Hit By Burglar

Police learned at about 5:55 p.m. that someone had broken into five lockers in the varsity football locker room at Concordia University. Stolen items included cell phones, keys, identification, credit cards and other personal items.

Disorderly Conduct

Police responded to a call on the 1500 block of Monroe at about 1:22 p.m. after a resident reported that a neighbor had threatened him and accused him of unspecified acts of damage to her car. The officer was unable to make contact with the alleged offender, but documented the report for use in future incidents.

Shipping Pallets Stolen

The manager of Whole Foods, 7245 Lake St., reported to police that an employee at PetCo saw a man loading wooden shipping pallets from behind Whole Foods into the rear of his green pickup truck at about 8:19 p.m. The manager reported that the PetCo employee attempted to talk with the man, but he drove away northbound on Harlem Avenue. The loss was estimated at $50 and police said security footage would be reviewed to identify the offender and their vehicle.

TUESDAY, OCT. 9

Graffiti Reported by Fenwick Coach

A coach at Fenwick High School reported to police that between Oct. 6-8, someone used orange spray paint to deface the interior walls of the 3rd base dugout at the Fenwick baseball field located at 7255 Greenfield. The graffiti was photographed for documentation only at this time, police said.

Car Stolen, Found Stripped

A River Forest resident in the 7200 block of Oak Street reported at 8:07 a.m. that someone stole their 2007 Chrysler Sebring sometime between 10 p.m. Oct. 8 and 8 a.m. Oct. 9. Police reported the vehicle was found several hours later, partially stripped near North Avenue and Central in Chicago.

Jewelry and Camera Stolen

Someone stole jewelry and a camera worth $3,100 from a home on the 100 block of Park Avenue, a resident reported at about 1:11 p.m. Police found no sign of forced entry at the home, but the victim told police she believed it was an employee working in the home.

Thieves Arrested After Hitting Walgreens, Whole Foods

Marcus McGee, 32, of the 0-100 block of Lake Street in Chicago, and Darryl Fleming, 37, of the 4900 block of west Ferdinand Street in Chicago, were arrested and charged with retail theft at about 11:42 a.m., police reported.

Police said they were responding to a call about a retail theft at Walgreen's Drug Store, 7251 Lake St., after employees reported they saw two men take merchandise and leave without paying. Officers reported they located the two men after seeing them walk out of Whole Foods Market, 7245 Lake St., followed by store employees who told police them men had stolen food items. Officer stopped McGee and Fleming and found merchandise, including bottle liquor, in their possession and then were arrested and charged. Both men were later released on bond pending trial.
