Pair Charged After River Forest Burglary

Foot chase ends with arrests of two Chicago men suspected of several car burglaries.

Two Chicago men have been charged in connection with a recent auto burglary after leading police on a foot chase through a River Forest neighborhood

Police said Koji Roberts, 21, and Kephren M. Ferguson, 23, were behind a car break-in that took place around 11:50 p.m. July 10 in the 800 block of William Street.

Investigators tracked the pair to the 900 block of Clinton Place. Along the way, police said, authorities recovered a wallet taken from the car. Nearby, they also found a state ID card belonging to Roberts.

Authorities are connecting the duo to several other recent car burglaries in the area.

Roberts, of the 5000 block of West Monroe Street, and Ferguson, of the 5300 block of West Henderson Street, were each charged with felony burglary. According to online jail logs, Ferguson being held without bond. Information on Roberts was not immediately available.

In the wake of the arrests, police are reminding residents to keep their car doors locked and to report suspicious incidents to the River Forest Police Department.
