Police Blotter: Oak Park

Bike thefts, warrant arrests are among the crimes reported over the weekend.

THEFT The cover of a spare tire was unzipped and stolen Aug. 26 from a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of North Humphrey Avenue.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE A chunk of concrete was tossed through a window of a building in the 100 block of Washington Boulevard on Aug. 26, causing about $200 in damages.

BIKE THEFT An unlocked bicycle valued at $50 was stolen Aug. 27 from the yard outside 100 Forest Place.

FUGITIVE ARRESTED Kim Lucien, 48, 1820 S. Second Ave. in Maywood, was arrested Aug. 28 in the 500 block of North Harvey Avenue on a parole violation stemming from Louisiana, police said.

THEFT ATTEMPT A saw-wielding man was spotted underneath a red Honda Accord parked in the 200 block of Chicago Avenue on Aug. 28. The would-be thief's attempt to steal the car's catalytic converter was thwarted by a witness.

WARRANT ARREST Brittney George, 19, of Milwaukee, was arrested Aug. 28 in the 5900 block of West Madison Street on a warrant stemming from an Oak Park assault.

BIKE THEFT An unlocked black BMX bicycle valued at $250 was stolen Aug. 28 from the back yard of a home in the 500 block of Woodbine Avenue.

BIKE THEFT A white BMX bicycle valued at $255 was stolen from inside the parking garage at 137 N. Scoville Ave. on Aug. 28.

DOMESTIC BATTERY Evelyn Smith, 37, 516 N. Cuyler Ave., was charged with domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of a domestic crime after an Aug. 29 fight at her residence, police said.
