Cell Phone Stolen

Someone stole an unattended cell phone from a table in the 1000 block of Lake Street between 7 and 7:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $400, police said. 

Marijuana Arrest

Police charged Richard Holm, 49, of Plainfield, with marijuana possession during a traffic stop in the 0-100 block of Harrison Street. Police said he had 3.7 grams of marijuana in the car. He was processed and released on bond, police said. 

TUESDAY, AUGUST 6

Girl Hits Cop, Kicks Squad Car Window

Police charged a 16-year-old girl with battery and property damage after she struck an officer in the head and kicked the window of a squad car around 4 p.m. Police said the girl was involved in a domestic dispute with her mother in the 1200 block of North Lombard Avenue, and hit the responding officer in the head. She then kicked at the window of a squad car, separating the window from its frame, police said. She was processed and turned over to the Cook County Detention Center, police said.

Teen Arrested for Battery

Police charged a 16-year-old Oak Park resident with battery for an Aug. 1 incident against a Forest Park resident in the 100 block of South Kenilworth Avenue. He was arrested in the 0-100 block of Pleasant Street around 5:20 p.m. and released to his parents.

Merecedes Stolen, Found in Alley

Someone stole a running 1998 Mercedes in an open garage in the 1000 block of Ridgeland Avenue between about 5 and 5:20 p.m. The car was soon found, with a flat tire and no ignition key, in an alley in the 900 block of Ridgeland Avenue, police said. 

Man Tries to Steal iPhone

A man in a camo hat tried to steal another man's iPhone from his hands while they passed each other in the 1000 block of Thomas Avenue around 7:50 p.m. When he didn't get the phone, he ran north on Forest Avenue, police said. 

UPS Package Stolen

Someone stole a UPS package containing a color identifier from a front porch in the 600 block of Highland Avenue between 3:45 and 5:40 p.m. The total estimated loss is $176, police said. 

Phone Stolen

Someone stole a package containing a cell phone from a porch in the 900 block of Wisconsin Avenue between 2:40 and 3:50 p.m. The total estimated loss is $100, police said. 

Window Broken at Jiffy Lube

Someone broke a window at Jiffy Lube, 6845 North Ave. between 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 and 7:30 a.m. Aug. 6. The estimated cost of damage is $100, police said. 

MONDAY, AUGUST 5

Break-in Attempt

Someone used a pry tool to try to break into a garage in the 1000 block of Clarence Avenue between 8:30 p.m. Aug. 4 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 5. The estimated cost of damage is $150, police said. 

Bike Stolen

Someone stole an unattended bike from a sidewalk in the 1100 block of South Lombard Avenue between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. The total estimated loss is $50, police said.
