In a statement, Police Chief Gregory Weiss chalked the arrest up to the department's "anti-burglary mission plan," which aims to prevent burglaries and other property crimes on the south side of River Forest through patrol saturation and "covert patrols which led to the crime not only being observed firsthand by an officer but also, resulted in the quick apprehension."

Weiss is also reminding residents to call the River Forest Police Department at (708) 366-7125 to report suspicious activity.
