Police: River Forest Burglar Nabbed

Authorities say traffic stop leads to arrest.

Police in River Forest have linked a Chicago woman to at least two recent vehicle burglaries within the village.

Leticia A. Shea, 28, was charged in connection with River Forest incidents Wednesday after a traffic stop in Elmwood Park.

Authorities said Shea was already jailed on an unrelated criminal case. She's also been convicted of a previous burglary case in Elmwood Park. River Forest police have linked her to a pair of May 11 burglaries, one in the 800 block of Keystone and the other in the 700 block of Franklin.

Shea, of the 3800 block of West George Street, was charged with two counts of burglary and is scheduled to appear at the Maybrook courthouse June 9.

“The key component to this investigation was developing a suspect quickly. Once that occurred, through the cooperation between the patrol division and detectives we were able to identify, apprehend and charge Shea," Police Chief Gregory Weiss said in a statement.
