River Forest Blotter: Chicago Man Gets Arrested Twice in One Day

The following information was supplied by the River Forest Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Warrant Arrest: Brent Burge, 22, of Chicago, was arrested Nov. 20 on an active warrant from Cook County Sheriff's Police for violating his conditional release for drunken driving, police said. Burge was found sleeping in the storage room of an apartment building in the 1500 block of William Street. 

Traffic Arrest: Raul Orea, 19, of Chicago, was charged Nov. 19 with driving without a valid license and driving without insurance after a traffic stop in the 6800 block of North Avenue, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Victor Ortiz, 49, of Chicago, was charged Nov. 19 with driving on a suspended license, driving without a valid driver's license and driving without valid registration after a traffic stop in the 7000 block of North Avenue, police said.

Retail Theft: Vernon Sweezer, 62, of Chicago, was charged Nov. 18 with retail theft after first taking $30.62 worth of turkey sausage from, 7245 Lake St., and then trying to steal V-8 juice drink, scissors and other items from , 7251 Lake St., police said.

Theft: A wallet containing a driver's license and credit cards was taken Nov. 18 from a customer at , 7349 Lake St. The owner told police that the thief had already charged items totaling $283.77 on a credit card.

Traffic Arrest: Lidia E. Custodio, 45, of Melrose Park, was charged Nov. 16 with driving on a suspended license and without insurance after a traffic stop in the area of Thatcher Avenue and Greenfield Street, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Emily Walker, 33, of Berwyn, was charged Nov. 16 with driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance after a traffic stop at Madison Street and Orchard Avenue in Maywood, police said.

Retail Theft: Annette Nelson, 50, of Chicago, was charged Nov. 16 with retail theft after she put several pair of high-end sunglasses up a sleeve and attempted to walk out of , 7424 Lake St., police said.

Traffic Arrest: Emanuel Granades, 19, of Melrose Park, was charged Nov. 16 for driving on an expired license and driving with an expired registration after a traffic stop at Keystone Avenue and Lake Street, police said.

Retail Theft: Valerie Starts, 46, of Chicago, was charged Nov. 15 with retail theft after she attempted to walk out of , 7525 Lake St., with onion rings, chicken tenders and Hawaiian Punch that she'd placed in a cooler, police said. The items were valued at $12.64, police said.
