River Forest Men Charged With Marijuana Possession, Retail Theft: Police

Sunday, November 24

Suspended License

Police charged Aswad Rock, 21, of Oak Park, with driving with suspended registration and no insurance during a traffic stop in the 300 block of Harlem Avenue about 1 a.m. He was given a Jan. 14 court date and released from the scene. 

Saturday, November 23

Marijuana Possession

Police charged Brandon Holtzman, 19, of River Forest, with marijuana possession during a traffic stop in the 400 block of Ferdinand Street around 1 a.m. Police said Holtzman had about 6.4 grams of marijuana in the car. 

River Forest Man Charged With Retail Theft

Forest Park police charged Frank Zarate, 26, of River Forest, with retail theft after he stole about $560 in merchandise from Walmart, 1300 Des Plaines Avenue, around 7:40 p.m. He was processed, given a Jan. 14 court date and released on bond. 

Driving Without a License

Police charged Abdullah Aldarsouni, 18, of River Forest, with driving without a license during a traffic stop in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue around 1 a.m. He was given a Jan. 14 court date and released. 

Thursday, November 21

Chalk Bar Cited for Staying Open After-Hours

Police issued a citation to Chalk bar owner Matthew Mathey, 43, of Westchester, for staying open after closing hours around 2 a.m. 

Monday, November 18

DUI, Leaving Scene of Accident

Forest Park police charged David Palma, 28, of Forest Park, with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a valid license or insurance and a seatbelt violation after he side-swiped a car in the 200 block of Circle Avenue about 12:45 a.m. He was given a Jan. 21 court date and released. 

Retail Theft

Forest Park police charged Christian Mooney, 25, of Chicago, with retail theft after he stole a box of candy from CVS, 7216 Circle Ave., around 11 a.m. He was given a Jan. 8 court date and released.
