River Forest Police Blotter: Bullet Holes, Marijuana Charges and a Car Egging

Police also report a string of car vandalism on North Avenue.

DUI Charge: Demetris Owens, 39, of Chicago, was charged with drunken driving after an April 11 traffic stop in the 1100 block of Harlem Avenue.

Disorderly Conduct: A car parked in the 700 block of Forest Avenue was egged on April 10. 

Criminal Damage: A single bullet hole was found on the front fender of a car parked in the 1400 block of Franklin Avenue on April 8. A spent 9mm casing was found next to the car.

Marijuana Possession: Michael Blaising, 24, and Madison Lopez, 25, were each charged with marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia while parked near Concordia University, 7400 Augusta St., on April 7, police said.

Drug Investigation: An 18-year-old man was caught huffing spray paint in an alley near Central Avenue and Clinton Place on April 7.

Criminal Damage: Tables at Lincoln School and Keystone Park were vandalized April 6.

Criminal Damage: A rock was tossed through the driver’s side window of a car parked in the 7300 block of North Avenue on April 6.

Fraud: A River Forest resident reported to police on April 6 fraudulent activity on her bank account totaling $3,740.

Person Down: A man passed out on the sidewalk in the 7200 block of Lake Street was roused awake and taken to a local hospital on April 6.

Marijuana Possession:  Jessica Carrasco, 20, of the 7900 block of West Altgeld Street in Elmwood Park, was charged with marijuana possession after an April 6 traffic stop at North and Belleforte Avenues, police said.

Animal Complaint: A neighbor in the 1300 block of Lathrop Avenue called police April 6, alleging that a neighbor was living with “numerous” cats.

Removal of Person: A garbage picker outside Dominick’s Finer Foods, 7501 North Avenue, was asked by police to leave the area after yelling at a store employee in April 5.

Criminal Damage: A rock was tossed through the back window of a 2000 Volkswagen parked in the 7300 block of North Avenue on April 5.

Criminal Damage: The front driver’s side window of a 1997 Honda parked in the 7300 block of North Avenue was shattered on April 5.
