A new employee at the 7-Eleven Store at 1140 Harlem Ave. is suspected of stealing nearly $1,200 in cash.
Burglary Attempt/Criminal Trespass
A rear door window of a home in the 600 block of Clinton Street was broken in what police belive may have been a burglary attempt. Entry was not made into the home.
AUG. 21
Burglary
A computer monitor and keyboard valued at a combined $300 were reported stolen from an office building at Dominican University, 7900 Division Street.
Marijuana Possession
Two 17-year-olds from Oak Park were ticketed after police busted up a group of teens partying in Thatcher Woods. One of the teens was caught with a case of beer; the other was caught with a "quantity" of marijuana and paraphernalia inside a backpack, police said.

Bike Theft
A black and silver Giant bicycle locked to a rack outside Dominican University, 7900 Division Street, was reported stolen. Estimated value is $400.
Telephone Harassment
A River Forest resident who sold a cell phone over Craigslist reported receiving multiple harassing calls from the buyer.
AUG. 23
Retail Theft Arrest
Viola Martinez, 61, of the 1800 block of North 24th Street in Melrose Park, was charged with felony retail theft after she was caught stealing from Whole Foods Market, 7245 Lake St.
Retail Theft
Nine bottles of wine valued at $413.55 were stolen from Whole Foods Market, 7245 Lake St. Police say the suspect in the case was identified in a similar theft at a Whole Foods in Deerfield.

Bike Theft
A black Jamis Explorer bicycle valued at $365 was reported stolen from Dominican University, 7900 Division Street.
Unlawful Possession of Vehicle Registration
Imani A. Williams-Mason, of the 7300 block of South Crandon Avenue in Chicago, was charged with felony possession of a title/registration without authority, aiding or abetting the unlawful display of a fraudulent registration, unlicensed driving, driving without registration, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance after a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Harlem Avenue, police said.
AUG. 25
DUI Charge
Michael Schmidt, 46, of the 3700 block of North Nordica Avenue in Chicago, was charged with drunken driving and a series of traffic violations after a traffic stop near North and Lathrop Avenues, police said.
Burglary to a Vehicle
A GPS navigation device and a flashlight were stolen from an unlocked car in the 7300 block of Holly Court. Estimated loss was $150.
Disorderly Conduct
An employee of Ann Taylor Loft, 7331 Lake St., reported that a customer was "belligerent, verbally abusive, and threatening." Police said the store will "issue a formal letter her banning the customer from the premises in the future."
