River Forest Police Blotter: Cello Stolen at Concordia

The following information was supplied by the River Forest Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Theft: A cello valued at $20,000 was stolen Jan. 23 from a locker in the Kretzman Music Building at , 7400 Augusta St.

Burglary to Auto: Three portable DVD players were stolen Jan. 23 from an unlocked 2007 Honda Odyssey parked in the 900 block of Monroe Avenue. Estimated loss was $450.

Traffic Arrest: Dessazzer L. Banks, 30, of Forest Park, was charged Jan. 23 with driving on a suspended license after an officer pulled over her car at Washington Boulevard and Keystone Avenue for having suspended plates on her car, police said. She also was charged with driving while her registration was suspended.

Traffic Arrest: Sonja Hilson, 27, of Oak Park, was charged with driving on a suspended license Jan. 23 after an officer pulled over a car at Chicago and Park Avenues for having plates that had been suspended for insurance violations, police said. 

Marijuana Possession: DeJon D. Collins, 20, of River Forest, was charged Jan. 23 with misdemeanor possession of cannabis after admitting to having 18.6 grams of cannabis and paraphernalia in his possession, police said. Police found the drugs and other items after a Concordia University housing official asked for a search of a dormitory room.

Aggravated DUI Charge: Laparish E. Housley, 29, of Chicago, was charged with aggravated DUI Jan. 25 after an officer on patrol saw a vehicle swerving between lanes in the 1500 block of Thatcher Avenue, police said. He also was charged with two counts of DUI, driving without a license and driving without insurance.

Warrant Arrest: Sydney B. Odisho, 36, of Chicago, was arrested Jan. 26 on an outstanding warrant from the Illinois State Police for failing to appear in court on a traffic charge, police said. He was picked up after an officer saw his car cross over the center lane in the 500 block of Harlem Avenue.

Traffic Arrest: Filiberto Romero, 39, of Chicago, was charged Jan. 26 with driving on a suspended license after police pulled him over in the 1500 block of Harlem Avenue for having only one headlamp, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Sergio A. Lopez-Guzman, 20, of Summit, was charged Jan. 27 with driving without a license after he was pulled over for speeding in the 1400 block of Harlem Avenue, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Brian L. Hudson, 37, of Chicago, was charged with driving on a revoked license Jan. 27 after his car was pulled over in the 7400 block of Division Street for having only one headlamp, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Brandon D. Clark, 28, of Matteson, was charged with driving with expired registration Jan. 28 after an officer pulled over his car at Lathrop Avenue and Washington Boulevard for having an expired registration sticker, police said. He also was charged with improper display/use of registration, speeding and unlawful use of his car horn.

Traffic Arrest: Victor M. Garcia, 23, of Des Plaines, was charged with driving on a revoked license Jan. 28 after an officer stopped a car in the 7300 block of North Avenue for operating with expired registration plates, police said. He also was charged with driving while his registration expired and driving without insurance.

Theft: A wallet containing credit cards was stolen Jan. 29 from a customer at Starbucks, 7201 Lake St.
